Image Policy: White?

I was reading the image policy over again and noticed the warning against clothing with any part white. Since you have some screenshots uploaded with white included, I was wondering if I'm interpreting this incorrect. If I am getting it right, I would like to know when it is okay to use white, and when it is not. Thank you and sorry to be a bother. :) --Vif 07:24, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

The white/black warning only pertains if the color makes it impossible or difficult to see the details. So, having white/black is fine if it doesn't conceal intricate parts of the clothing. If you need it, I'm sure I can find examples. Thanks for asking! - Powder Rune 01:09, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Deleted User Page T3T

Haii Rune! I found my user page erased this morning... but it made me realized about the policy... LOL I didn't look at it earlier. Anyways, I hope I can contribute to the wiki page as mush as I can... Since I am korean, I get on the korean server to find out about the game and try to post it here! Let me know if you need me to "spy" on KR server... ^^;;; stay cool!

Well, the policy was sort of new and we announced on May 10 that we would start purging user pages that don't follow the policy starting May 15, so I'm not surprised that visitors that don't come here and/or log in every day didn't notice. It's alright, though, you didn't have a serious offense and because your user page was small and concise it didn't count against you. Haha, thanks! I'm glad you found it amusing. I wanted to put dynamic screen shots on certain articles to make them more attractive--sort of like flipping through a book just to look at the pictures. Images of mine for deletion:

I understand you are not to make exceptions, so I will list the images I'm content with being deleted, to lower my image count under 10.

All the images of my pets (honestly, they're unnecessary), and the image of my Ego Gladius at the bottom. The direct file names are as follows:

Blocking Accounts

As nice as they are, on second thought, I'd rather leave the deleted and locked pages completely blank, so that the names are in red the next time we go through them (so we can skip easily skip over them). funny thing is, even though I blurred out my char name and guild name, you can still kinda read it. So, thats probably why you took it down, but, can I reupload it if I were to like.. cross out/blur the names more? The image policy specifically says to Ctrl+N when taking screen shots for the wiki, which is why I removed your picture. I don't consider blurring or crossing names out an alternative, because it looks unprofessional and messy. It's much easier and looks a lot better if you just use Ctrl+N.

So, if you still want to put up a picture for ranged attack (or anything else, really), please take your screenshots with Ctrl+N enabled.

Oh, good job going through the accounts. I'm kind of single-mindedly working on the gloves pages and wasn't really paying attention. I guess you're finally done with high school, eh?

As for your OCD, well, good luck with it hahaha. We really -should- be consistent, though. I'm kinda bad at that myself. Hopefully people will go for it, or else you'll have a lot of cleaning up after them to do.

Re:Moving/Redirecting Images to fit the Monster Template

Right. All you need to do is make the page "File:nameofmonster.jpg" (it ALWAYS has to end in .jpg) and redirect it to the file you want to appear on the template. For example: with the White Ant Lion, you would create (not upload) the page File:White Ant Lion.jpg and redirect it to File:White Ant Lion.png. Heh, that confused me for a while, too. But I found out that if you put the templates onto the monster page before redirecting all of the images, you need to edit (using the edit tab at the top) and save without changing anything... If that makes any sense? Then all of the images will appear. And, because you didn't change anything, the edit will not appear on the recent changes. --Aramet 04:41, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

Jewel Request

If you know anything about it, could you post a list of jewel upgrades and the jewels needed to use them? I'm sort of curious about that because both my longbow and my gladius need a jewel repair and only the gladius' is listed as an example.

I had been going through the deletion log and she had specified it did not follow the image policy. Please refer to that, it could have been an incorrect extension, such as .gif or .jpg or something, but just make sure all of your pics follow the policy. Koil 19:28, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Potion Template

I'm going to give you the same speech I gave to Angevon about my new potion templates with a little edit.

Well, I've manage to create 2 potion templates that I think are pretty decent, other than the fact that it's a large body for a information table. I want your opinion on what you think of the templates so far, even though they are incomplete. Here is the link to the template and 3 examples of the template used on potions.

Here are some notes on the tables :

I don't think the actual size of the item is required (I made a math function for the size) so if you don't like it, I can remove it.

Potion Making information will only show if 'Rank' field is filled in.

Consumable and Toxicity will only show if 'Consumable' field is filled in.

Sold By will say 'This item is not sold by any store vendors.' unless 'SellList' is filled in

Required Rank was just a space filler, even though only 3 potions have a rank that is not the same as the potion rank (Hp/mana/stamina 50 = novice)

I need to find a way to make potion making information 'Show/Hide' togglable like the hidden text template, but I have no idea how to make the look match the template.

These templates are only for Potions. I'll make other templates later.

It's me again, Rusty. Last time I left a note here, I was letting you know which images to delete that I uploaded solely for my user page. Well, this time, I'm here for the same thing. I'm going to be moving over all the tables and stuff on my page to a page of my own on a site I "own" with a few other friends of mine from IRC; which can be viewed here, my own personal page being here, and my Mabinogi directory. I'll just leave that Mabinogi Link on my User Page to showcase my characters and stuff via my own page (if that's ok). Question about something

I usually consider this to be one of the best game wikis i've ever visited, and I always try to use it as a model (to a point) for the few wikis I start up. I'm starting up a serious wiki, and i'm curious on one fact: how does the wiki get images that are in the data? Things like inventory pictures, and things like that. A wiki without images is not a wiki at all, so i'm really rather curious of the fact that you have perfect quality images as if they came from the data. I know there's not a decrypted version of mabinogi, so how did this wiki manage to do it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erich (talk • contribs) . I don't get why they would be up and deleted like this. I'm assuming it was a mistake, and uploading placeholder images until better ones (i.e., ones that aren't images of a commerce partner wearing it) come along. Unfortunately, I forgot to do this before giving the clothing to her, so this is the best I can do for now.
