roughly, it translates to: Song Rank + Music Buff Effect. And yes, it does apply to both from what I read off site.
Interestingly, automatic weapon conversion forces the switch to a Microphone, even if an instrument and microphone is equipped.
This might be me, but when I play normal Rank 1 Enduring Melody with and without Fantastic Chorus using a regular flute and concert microphone, it gives me 13 Def, 13 M Def, 6.3 Prot, 6.3 M Prot, and 520.70% recovery. My Song is only Rank 4 (+12) and my Playing Instrument is Rank 1 (+15).
If Fantastic Chorus only used Song, while everything else used both, shouldn't my Fantastic Chorus-Enduring Melody bonus have been lower?
My rF buffs still gives +15 from r1 play and +11 from r5 song for a +.26% from 1% base.
According to this edit, Music Buff Effect/Duration has zero effect on Fantastic Chorus.

Music buff effect from both at the minute, effect normal buff skills when used with Fantastic. But Fantastic-only buffs are not effected by music buff effect, unsure on duration. (On another note, Song and Playing Stacking was originally a glitch then they fixed it so only Song's buff effect effects this, but then players complained because they liked it the old way so it was changed to both stacking all the time.)
I think I'll probably move it to the bottom if I don't hear anyone having something against it then.
Personally, I like it there so I don't have to scroll the whole way down past the master title to see it. That just seems silly to me.
To me, pictures are details and so I'd like it to be under the details section, but that's just me of course. Do we really need those overlap pictures though. I can see pictures for rank sizes, but overlap is just kind of silly.
The overlap look kinda nice, but don't really give that much info. They are for like uh...A extra gallery, where the pictures are just to look nice. The initial 2 pictures showing what the skill does, provide info and are good to have. Having two galleries would be a nuisance though, so it may be ideal to move it to the bottom if most of the pictures are there to look nice, it is more consistent with just about every other page with a gallery anyways.
Overlaps show how the yellow is produced. Personally I don't see the need for size comparisons.
As long as we remember to include that the sizes change, skimming over it I see nothing telling you how the size changes.

They don't provide any additional effects, correct? If so, there is literally no point to them other than showing how mixing colors work.
We can keep those overlap pictures then as they are part of the trivia on how Korea had a much better version.
I don't see the point for any of the overlapping pictures.. They have 0 meaning towards the skill. even before the nerf. They only reason they make a new color is because of the way the light effect works. In my opinion its just a waste of space. All we need I think is one of each color, and a comparison of sizes. preferably off to the right like EVERY other skill. EDIT: Even better I think would be one picture of green rF overlapped by r9 red, and the same with r9 and r1. get it all into 2 images.
If we're going to keep the overlaps, they need to be replaced, because right now they violate the wiki's policy of having player names in it.
Also if we're gonna keep the gallery between Details and Summary, might as well keep it consistent for the rest of the other skill pages (*cough* Rest *cough*)?
I don't mind. I mean even the gathering pages have galleries put into the details due to me placing it there for convenience...I mean rest shouldn't be bothered with but ehh...you guys have at it.

Just tried it. Guess what? My HP did not heal. However, my HP Regeneration went up to 2.7 + 0.12 hp/s (r2 Chorus + base regen).

I know how the skill works. Its like Respite with an added mana recovery, and nothing like Enduring Melody. It heals over time (and not instantly), not modify the base regeneration rate.
We both may have been confused by each other's wording, but there's no reason to get all worked up about it. >.>
Restore: Heals X amount, instantly or over time.
Increases regeneration: Modifies the base regeneration rate.
In my opinion, "Restores over time" makes more sense than "increases regeneration".
- The more ambiguous one makes more sense? Christ.
- "To restore", "to restore over time", and "increase regeneration" are not the same.
- Increase regeneration is what the skill does.
P.S.: Nothing modifies base regeneration. Research.
Already starting the new year with arguments! Either way, the original statement was wrong because it makes no mention to overtime or regeneration rate. Just because something is wrong, doesn't mean you revert it to an older wrong version.

Even more clarity:
(100 + Enduring Rate Bonus + Meditation Rate Bonus if active + Elixir/recover booster bonus + Rest if resting)% + X per second
- "X" is the rate of Phantasmal/Fantastic Chorus's Life Anthem.
- All regeneration rates are always listed as percents.
- Nothing is modified percent wise.
- It only adds a fixed bonus regeneration on top of percent regeneration.
You're going to have to subtract 100% from each of those bonuses.
eg. If you rest, your regen is not 100% + 350% (r9) = 450% (0.54 hp/s), it's 100% + 250% (r9) = 350% (0.42 hp/s).
I suck at math, bite me qq...
Anyways, the point is, it's a fixed regeneration rate separate from normal precentages.
...Uhh...it adds a regeneration rate on top of normal regeneration. also stacks with Enduring Performance. So 100% Normal regen + Enduring's recovery boost + Meditation if active + elixirs + Phantasmal.
It restores a set amount amount based on Phantasmal Chorus as a fixed rate on top of percent recovery bonuses. I don't know how else to put it simply...e-e
As far as DK disarm is concerned, I don't have this skill past F. Need to find a couple people that do have it at higher ranks to actually see a difference.
Playing one buff, then using encore, and then playing the other buff creates a yellow circle.
But I thought FC doesn't stack no more?
Probably just a leftover from the first version, like the circle. We don't need a visual representation of range, other skills don't have them, and standing on the circle after the buff does nothing anymore.
Not sure if the effects stack, but the visuals persist and will blend together if the character hasn't moved. Additive color blending of red and green results in yellow, as ベリサ・マイルスター mentioned.
The effects can stack. Considering Sorrow doesn't effect allies and Life doesn't affect enemies, the effects can happen simultaneously with an Encore use. Multiple ones will use the most recent one if the circles overlap. You can, however, change the buff by entering different circles of Life (i.e. entering a Rank E one then moving over into a Rank 1).
Also it becomes active when you actually run inside the circle, and same can be said for enemies when using Sorrow.
More observations to follow.
I'm really confused. Everyone is saying they do not stack.
Was it possible to stack Battlefield Overture and Enduring Melody before the nerf or something?
Yes. before the nerf, the buff you used to apply the circle was tied to the circle as well. So if you cast a Sorrow with a battlefield, then the circle would give both buffs. (er, buff and debuff) as well as you could stack those with another linked buff using life circle.
So you could have Battlefield, Enduring and Hymn of life at once, as well as monster debuff.
I noticed my recovery increased after I stepped inside a Life Anthem. Enduring+Life kinda made my stamina raise wickedly fast. Multiple Life ANthems do not stack. Music Buffs and Lief anthem do. I'm not sure what's not to understand o-o...music buffs never stack anyways.
there seems to be a lot of confusion around this skill so i did some tests.
Firstly, I would like to point out that the buffs given do not last for the full duration of the skill. if you wander out of range of the circle, you will notice the buff ends long before the circle disappears. This brings me to the next point, the circle does in fact refresh the buff, despite what others have written. HOWEVER, the skill has a 'hard' limit, and once the circle disappears, so to does the buff.
I'm not sure however, A. how long the buff does last, it seems to be around half of the circle duration, and B. how frequently the refresh rate is. I was able to go back to the center of the circle and idle for a second before the buff kicked in again.
- If anyone is in the range when it starts, it will last and persist as long as they are in the circle.
- Duration refers to how long the chorus circle lingers, not the buff itself.
- By the time the circle vanishes, and if the person or enemy has not left, the buff ends, without applying #2.
- Anyone who was not in the circle during its creation will not be penalized with #2 or #3, but will receive the buff like anyone else as if it was first created.
- Effects will continue to persist for 10 seconds upon leaving the circle.
- This included enemies under the effects of Sonata of Sorrow (Because Sorrow Sonata sounds weird to me...)
- If at any point, a person decides to leave because they were knocked out, used Assault Slash, or simply walked out, the 10 second rule is applied.
- If the person decides to go back into the circle, they will regain it, only to have it vanish after the circle disappears.
- This included enemies under the effects of Sonata of Sorrow.
- This also means that #2 can not occur again and it will not be refreshed for another 10 seconds.
- Entering another Chorus Circle will override the previous Chorus Circle.
- If it overlaps, then the recent one is applied.
- The 10 second rule is applied only to the initial buff. Entering a higher or lower ranked circle will not refresh it.
This is the nerfed version. In the original KR patch, the circle buffs were tied to the buff you used with fantastic chorus. and they stacked.
So if you used Battlefield, a red circle would appear, one that gave out the debuff and battlefield. stepping in its radius refreshes both buffs, and those would stack if you also made an enduring chorus circle, which would give out an enduring and hymn buff.
Ours are only different in the fact that the rules for applying music buffs didn't change. it is a hard limit of one buff.
The page shows that the skill has a range of 500 across all ranks. However, I'm fairly sure that the range increases along with rank. Can anyone confirm this?
Using my test results when I was finding indefinite ranges for Music Buff skills, Novice ranked Phantasmal is 500. I am not sure if it changes rank for rank. I will go into Tir Chonaill shortly to see if it compares to rank 6.

Does anyone know if Fantastic Chorus is affected by Music Buff stat? and to what extent?
At rank D it looks like my regen rate is faster than the listed 1.3, but it didn't seem to have much or any difference with/without my demonic instrument.
Edit: Page says it takes Song's Buff Stat not Playing, so maybe instrument stat doesn't add? Not sure on titles. Would the +8 from the battlefield title apply to sorrow sonata?
Ode of Sighs says something about affecting stats, but Mabination and Mabidata aren't being clear cut about it. Just which ones are affected?
Hymn of Life increases recovery rates of HP/MP/Stamina. Odes of Sigh decreases Movement Speed, Attack Speed, and Casting Speed of enemies as well as their Str, Int, Dex, Will, and Luck. Straight from the JP wiki. Does not apply in Guild Battles or arena, at least not in JP.
Another thing, it's just one circle, not two different colored circles for Phantasmal (I refuse to call it Fantastic)? How to tell the difference for Hymn and Odes?
Should these not be Phantasmal, as is the names of the skill?
Phantastic isn't really a word, so people use the term with the F in place of the PH in place for the adjective version of the word. Though, as far as I've seen, Fantasy and Phantasy both seem to be equally used and accurate depending on region. Though, I'm not sure how he got those quest names.
Well, there is "Phantasmic" but it might just be "Phantasmal" for all we know.
When you use this skill, a bar appears under your character's name like with Instant Casting. Using Playing Instrument, Singing, or any of the Buff Music Skills during this time will cause a magic circle to appear in an area centered around the Bard, and sings along with the Score Scroll's Vocal line or any default music. The music can last longer than the circle does.
The magic circle gives different effects depending on what skill is used to activate it.
I'm unsure about which effect ordinary Singing/Playing Instrument/Enthralling Performance gives but using the Buff Music skills gives one of the two effects depending on which one you use.
- Battlefield Overture, Vivace, and Lullaby give the effect of 'Sigh Song' (not sure on the actual names here).
- This effect gives -Movement Speed, -Stats, and -Damage to all enemies in the circle.
- Enduring Melody, March Song, and Harvest Song give the effect of 'Hymn of Life' (not sure of the actual name once again).
- This effect restores a set amount of HP, MP, and Stamina too all allies in the circle.
The effects of 'Sigh Song' and 'Hymn of Life' seem to be affected by Phantasmal Chorus's rank.
