Basic Information

The Kitchen Dungeon is a special Shadow Mission that can be entered via the Iron Pot in Rath Royal Castle's kitchen, by using passes (called Recipes) exclusively sold by Glewyas. The dungeon's mechanics are similar to the Offering Shadow Mission.

How to enter a Kitchen Dungeon

  • A Kitchen Dungeon cannot be entered if the player already has a Shadow Mission.
  • A Kitchen Dungeon cannot be entered with a party. This is a solo mission.
  • Glewyas sells recipes, which are used to enter the dungeon, for 1,000g each.
    • Glewyas sells only one of each recipe per channel every in-game day.
      • This means that if a player purchases a recipe, that recipe will be unavailable for other players to purchase on that channel until the recipes are restocked.
      • Recipes are restocked at 0:00 (12:00 AM) in-game time.
    • Recipes can be purchased regardless of Cooking rank, but players may only enter the dungeon if their Cooking rank meets or exceeds the recipe rank.

To enter the dungeon:

  1. First, buy a recipe from Glewyas.
  2. Then, walk over to the Iron Pot and click on it. A window will appear, which will allow you to select a recipe and enter the mission.

The difficulty of the mission is based on your total level:

  • 1~99 Basic
  • 100~299 Intermediate
  • 300~999 Advanced
  • 1000+ Hard
    • Unlike normal Shadow Missions, you cannot choose the difficulty of the mission.

Inside a Kitchen Dungeon

The goal of the Kitchen Dungeon is to accrue points by adding the required ingredients, in the required amounts, to the recipe within a certain allotment of time. At the end of the mission, a prepared dish can be obtained from the reward chest. Scoring higher will increase the star rating of this dish. The dish can then be shown to Glewyas, who will reward the player according to its quality.

  • The moment the dungeon is entered, the timer will start decrementing.
  • There will be an orb in the middle of the dungeon that must hit to start the spawning of monsters.
  • Defeating an ingredient monster inside the red circle in the middle of the map will add its corresponding ingredient to the recipe.
    • Monsters defeated outside of the circle do not affect the added ingredient count in any way.
  • Be aware of the recipe's required ingredients and cooking time.
    • The required ingredients can be checked at any time by clicking the Info button on the top-right of the screen.
  • The spawn rate of certain ingredients roughly matches the ratio of the required ingredients
    • For Example, the Royal Caviar Canape pass would have a spawn rate of 59:47:11, if it were not for Sewer Rats or Silver Tableware spawns)
  • Monsters defeated in the Kitchen Dungeon will not drop gold or experience. However, Ingredient Hunting will still yield ingredients and leather.
  • Ingredient monsters will start off with 100% Protection (or more, depending on difficulty), but will be lowered by 15% each time they are hit with giant cookware.
    • Glewyas also lowers their protection by attacking.
      • The Cooking Knives and Ladles that are dropped by Glewyas and Silver Tableware will appear giant when equipped; these tools are functional weapons and have a large splash radius and wide angle, which can splash even behind the player.
        • These special cookwares cannot be taken outside of the dungeon.
  • Silver Tableware will spawn as soon as the 2nd ingredient is killed and occasionally spawn afterward.
    • Silver Tableware count as 5 points towards the final score if killed in the red circle.
    • Silver Tableware are passive and won't attack the player initially. They will instead attack the ingredients in the dungeon, though they do not decrease the ingredients' protection.
      • Attacking the Tableware directly, or with splash damage while it is using Defense, will cause it to aggro to the player. However, attacking the Silver Tableware while it is attacking an ingredient or Glewyas, will not cause it to change aggro.
  • Occasionally, a Sewer Rat will spawn.
    • If a rat is killed inside of the red circle, points are greatly deducted from the score (-10 ~ -15 points each).
      • Players should be mindful of where Glewyas is, as his splash can potentially be disruptive to their attempts to direct the rat.
    • When doing the Hotcake of Love recipe for G11, Sewer Rats deduct fewer points.
  • Points are deducted if the player goes over the required amount of any ingredient.
    • The points deducted scale as the difficulty of recipes increases.
  • Points are also deducted if the player does not complete the dungeon within the allotted time.
    • The more difference in time between the player's time and the allotted time, the more points are deducted. This means finishing the dungeon too late or too early will negatively impact the final score.
    • Players should be very careful not to hit the giant wooden fork inside the dungeon until they are ready to complete the recipe. Doing so will end the mission prematurely.
      • The fork is a prop, and so is safe from splash damage. It must be directly attacked to be activated.

Scoring, and Finishing a Kitchen Dungeon

  • When the player is finished cooking, they must hit the large wooden fork. If enough points are scored, a chest will appear holding the finished food as a reward.
    • Make sure to claim the reward from the reward chest before exiting the mission!
  • Tasting adds one point to the overall dish score for every rank, starting at Rank F.
    • ex: Rank F adds 1 point, Rank 1 adds 15 points.
      • This does not allow one to score above 100, however.
  • Finishing near the specified time of the Recipe's instructions gives better results than going over the time to get more ingredients.
    • ± ~4 Seconds = No Point Deduction
    • ± ~14 Seconds = -0.1 to -0.9 Points
    • ± ~29 Seconds = -1.0 to -1.9 Points
    • ± ~40 Seconds = -10 Points[1]
    • ± ~120 Seconds = -50 Points
    • Point deduction scales with difficulty rank.
  • To obtain a reward, bring the finished dish to Glewyas and select "Show him the food." He will give a reward of gold and experience. If the star rating of the food is 3 or higher, he will also give Royal Food Court Delivery Lists. For a list of rewards, go here.
  • The food taken from the reward chest can also be kept and consumed, instead of turned in to Glewyas for a reward. However, none of the preparable foods have entries in the Cooking Journal.

Kitchen Dungeon Tips

  • The Dungeon is good for ranking Skills with Combat Power requirements or those that require grouped up Monsters.
  • One effective strategy, if you have enough Pets to do so, is to take advantage of certain area-of-effect On-Summon effects that certain Pets have; Pets such as Sheeptuplets or Bone Dragons have Skills that activate On-Summon that can bypass the Ingredients' defenses.
  • The skill Hydra Transmutation will bypass the Ingredients' defenses and kill them without knocking them back.
    • However, care must be taken when using this tactic, as the Hydras can also easily kill Sewer Rats.
  • Meteor Strike will almost perfectly cover the red circle and both its impact and burn damage will bypass the Ingredients' defenses; the burn will also kill monsters without knocking them back.
    • Note: ignoring the Ingredients' defenses can be dangerous, as rats can spawn in and die in the Cooking Pot.
  • High-ranked Evasion can be used to dodge magic bolts which are often spammed by the Ingredients.
  • Always attack the Ingredients to even out the recipe requirements.
    • Note that Ingredients may sometimes be spawned randomly in unbalanced numbers. You will need to kill these extras so that they land outside of the pot in order to spawn different Ingredients.
  • Different Ingredients have different tolerances to magic and melee damage.
  • Charge into Smash is a good combo for quickly knocking Sewer Rats outside of the Cooking Pot.
    • Wind Blast is also a good option.
    • The knockback range of Flash Launcher is most nearly the radius of the orb to the edge of the red ring, knocking anything from center outside of the Pot if aimed properly.
  • Instead of depending on Glewyas to attack ingredients, it is advised to defeat the Silver Tableware and use the dropped Cooking Knife instead. The Ladle occasionally dropped by Glewyas can also be used to the same effect.
    • A Guard Cylinder can be used alongside these Weapons and it allows a Rank 1 Flame Burst to lower their defenses five times (-75%) without knocking them back.
    • With Strength, it is possible to simply fight using the Cooking Knife, taking advantage of its massive Splash range and radius.
      • If the Splash range of the Cooking Knife worries the player, Bash will target a single ingredient.
  • Glewyas could become a problem as he will continue to fight Ingredients even if the dish is finished.
    • Glewyas will thankfully fight Monsters away from the center of the Cooking Pot, but it is still possible for him to finish Monsters inside of it by chance.
    • Glewyas' AI will stop attacking while in the Cooking Pot if you move far enough away from him that his AI turns off and stops observing for Monsters, if he is not aggroed onto any Ingredients already, and if Ingredients are unable to aggro onto him.
    • Using Play Dead or Crisis Escape to drop aggro from you could cause Glewyas to be aggroed.
    • Silver Tableware can also fight Ingredients, so they will need to be killed.
      • They also do not focus on pushing Ingredients away from the center as much as Glewyas.
    • Rain Casting will stop the Ingredients from being able to aggro the player or Glewyas, but Glewyas and Silver Tableware will still be able to aggro Ingredients.
    • Alternatively, in extended fights it is possible that Glewyas will die and remove himself from the battle.

Recipes and Rewards

  • Rewards are based on the food's score and the recipe's rank.
    • Experience and Gold
    • If the food's rating is high enough, one or more Royal Court Food Delivery Lists (1, 2 or 3)
      • These Delivery Lists can be exchanged with Glewyas for various rewards, including cooking tools with exclusive enchants, Wheat Flour, as well as giant cookware weapons that can be used outside of the Kitchen Dungeon.
        • These giant cookwares have no special effect inside the Kitchen Dungeon. They are mainly novelty items.
      • Perhaps most notably, the Delivery Lists can be exchanged in Glewyas's Secret Shop to obtain the necessary skill books to rank up the higher ranks of the Cooking skill.
