Details

  • Courcle Artifacts are 1x1, 2x1, or 2x2 sized artifacts found within Courcle.
  • They can be appraised and then restored through Voight or the Artifact Investigation Skill.
  • They can be sold to Voight or any NPC's Shop for Gold and Exploration Experience.
  • All artifacts regardless of their state are untradeable.
    • Exceptions are the Snow, Sun, and Lightning Artifacts from Pantay Swamp.
      • These can be used to view cutscenes related to Generation 7.

Excavated Artifacts

For full maps of each excavation site, see here.

Excavated Artifacts as they appear before being restored.

This artifact is not yet appraised and identified; Voight won't pay you a good reward for it right now. You should appraise its value through Voight first.

In order to excavate artifacts, a player must have L-rods equipped. Treasure chests will only appear in the Village of Cor and the Pantay Swamps. Artifacts from La Terra Highlands, Cenae Meadows, Herba Jungle, Suytu River and Lappa Village must be gathered via Bare Hands from the Statues that appear when using the L-rods. Two artifacts can be gathered from each statue. If you get a Lucky Bonus while gathering, all of the extra artifacts will be of the same size category, and it also counts as one gathering. Certain artifacts can only be found in certain areas while others may be found in multiple areas. Once excavated, they can be appraised by Voight or Artifact Investigation.

Voight can also randomly reward the player an Excavated Artifact in return for Emeralds and Diamonds that the player gifts him.

Appraised Artifacts

By talking to Voight or using Artifact Investigation, an Excavated Artifact may be appraised. Doing so reveals the relic's estimated price and makes the artifact available for restoration. It will also expose the top left corner of the item. You may turn in Appraised Artifacts for their appraised price, but it may be less than what the restored artifact is worth. Appraising any artifact through Voight is 100 Gold, while Artifact Investigation varies by rank.

Voight may reward the player an Appraised Artifact in return for Diamonds when they are gifted to him.

Restored Artifacts

This artifact has been appraised, but it has not yet been clearly identified. You may exchange it with a reward through Voight, or ask him to restore it.

Voight or Artifact Investigation can also restore an appraised artifact. However, restoration can fail and the gold fee will not be refunded. On failure, Voight will destroy the artifact while Artifact Investigation will not. The higher the appraised value (indicated by a high amount of stars, similar to those on food items) of the artifact, the greater the chance for restoration. If restoration is successful, the sold relic will provide more exploration experience and gold. Restoring an artifact is not a requirement for exchanging it for gold and exploration exp, however you will receive much less exp and gold for unrestored artifacts. Voight has a restoration fee of 150 Gold, while Artifact Investigation varies by rank.

Some restored items may appear as fragments. A fragment has no value on its own but can be stacked with the same type to form a complete artifact that does have value.

If a box-like artifact is sold to Voight through his artifact appraisal menu, he will give you another artifact that he found in the box. This artifact is already in its restored state. However, selling the box artifact through any NPC shop window, including Voight's, will not yield the item.

Trivia

  • Before Masterpiece Season 1, you were required to use the Snow, Sun, and Lightning Artifacts to start Generation 7.
