- A Passive Defense that gives a monster the ability to reduce damage and stun from Archery and most Dual Gun Skills as well as Throwing Attack and Gold Strike and the damage over time from Puppet's Snare and Meteor Strike to a certain extent.
- Natural Shield grants monsters the ability to become much more difficult to knock down using Ranged and Dual Gun attacks, or will altogether render them useless.
- At Level 0, Natural Shield is activated when Defense is used with a Shield. A metallic noise can be heard. Any attacks (including Magnum Shot) do not knock down the target. Both the skill damage and stun is only reduced by the Defense skill and the Shield.
- At level 1, Ranged and Dual Gun attacks do not build up the Knockdown Gauge, and therefore, monsters will not be knocked down, but they will still be stunned. Damage is not reduced. There is no metallic noise or yellow flash on this level.
- If the attacks are fast enough, then a knockback can occur. (Ex. 5-hit Arrow Revolver with a fast bow, or multiple people using Ranged Attack.)
- At level 2, Ranged and Dual Gun attacks will stun the monster for only a fraction of a second. When struck by Ranged/Dual Gun attacks the monster will flash yellow and a metallic noise will sound. Level 2 Natural Shield reduces the damage from Ranged/Dual Gun attacks.
- At level 3, Ranged and Dual Gun attacks do not stun the monster at all. When struck by Ranged/Dual Gun attacks the monster will flash yellow and a metallic noise will sound. All Ranged attacks will do only 1 damage to the monster.
- Magnum Shot will always knock the enemy down, unless it is using Defense with a Shield or possesses Advanced Heavy Stander.
- Mirage Missile negates the effect of Natural Shield, except level 3.
- Only the shock damage will ignore the Shield, not the actual projectile.
