It's a skill that enables you to use throwing weapons against your opponents. If you have the throwing tool and the throwing weapon in your hands, you can use the Throwing attack. Unlike arrows, you can immediately attack an enemy without aiming first.

Details

  • Giant-only skill.
  • Requires an Atlatl and Javelins to use.
  • Throws a javelin at an enemy from a distance.
  • Players may run while this skill is loading and after it has loaded.
  • The damage formula for Throwing Attack is (Atlatl Damage Range + Javelin Bonus + Strength Bonus + Equipment Damage Enchants) * Rank Multiplier.
    • Every 3 Strength adds +1 to Maximum Damage and every 5 Strength adds to +1 Minimum Damage.
    • Short Javelins add 10 max damage while Long Javelins add 25 max damage. Refer to the Javelins List for other varieties.
  • Can be loaded during Windmill's animation, but can not be used until the animation ends.
  • As a ranged ability, Throwing Attack's effects are shunted by Natural Shield, Charge can block it, and Evasion can dodge the javelin.

Obtaining the Skill

  • Learned automatically upon equipping an Atlatl.

Training Method

  • Throwing Attack training benefits from the Close Combat talent.
  • Throwing Attack will not receive training for attacking the enemy with Defense loaded.
    • If the Javelin knocks them down, it will receive training for "Knock down an enemy".

Tips

  • Different Shadow Missions and Theatre Missions have a variety of Combat Power levels. Changing the mission difficulty will also affect the monsters' CP.
    • The Other Alchemists is an good example of a Shadow Mission with high Combat Power mobs with low HP, even on Basic.
  • Due to the large amount of training requirements, it may be best to set a party with the finish rule set to anyone. This allows for an additional attack and knockdown.
