Binds an enemy with the thread of your Control Bar. The target continues to take damage even after the skill ends.
|
Details
- Requires a Control Bar equipped in order to use.
- Attempting to use Puppet's Snare while controlling a marionette will disconnect the marionette first.
- Attaches strings onto the enemy and holds the enemy in place.
- Damage is dealt in 3 different parts: the bind, the final hit or detachment, and the damage over time after the skill ends.
- The bind and detachment deals damage proportional to the skill rank.
- Bind deals damage for every second the monster is held in place.
- Duration is determined by the skill rank.
- Bind damage is half of the listed damage over time, rounded.
- Damage over time is the damage tick that occurs every 3 seconds after detachment.
- Ending the skill early will start the counter for the damage ticks.
- Bind and damage over time is not influenced by the player's damage range.
- All damage variables are reduced by the target's Defense/Protection. The damage over time is also reduced by Natural Shield (Monster).
- Bind and damage over time cannot lower the target's HP below 1, but detachment can kill.
- If the target is in Deadly status, bind will display 0 per tick.
- Bind and damage over time ignores Invulnerability, Mana Shield status, and Commerce's damage reduction.
- Bind and damage over time cannot score criticals.
- During the skill's bind, attacks from other sources will deal additional damage.
- If the enemy receives a knockback, the attachment will cancel and the damage over time tick will occur.
- Certain monsters as well as enemies with "Finish" above them cannot be targeted with this skill; a system message will say "Invalid Target". A list of unsnareable monsters can be found here.
- Ignores Defense, Counterattack, Lance Counter, and Combo: Counter Punch.
- Does not inflict wounds.
- The bind can still harm enemies affected by Ice Spear if Puppet's Snare is used before the target is frozen, but the detachment damage does not occur.
- The bind can attack enemies behind Barrier Spikes, but the detachment and damage over time will instead affect the barrier.
- In addition to loading the skill, the bind uses miniscule stamina.
- The user will be temporarily stalled for a second after detachment, giving enough time for the opponent to retaliate.
- This does not occur if the user cancels early.
- If the enemy has a skill loaded during the attachment, it will not cancel.
- If the detachment hit kills a monster with Self-Destruct, the skill will fail to activate and no explosion will occur.
- You cannot interact with props while the skill is loaded.
- Cooldown begins after binding an monster. Assuming the skill is not canceled early, the final cooldown time is essentially:
Cooldown - Bind Duration
- If lag is experienced during the bind, all damage ticks might not occur.
- Snaring an enemy being knocked back/down or a downed enemy may cause displacement lag.
