Description

Samhain (pronounced sah-WIN): The end of the celtic year. To the ancient Celts, this was a time of celebrations, of costumes, of sacrificing crops to give the Gods and Goddesses their share of the bounty, the distant origin of the modern Halloween...

...but as the Milletians know all too well, Samhain is when the veil between their world and the next one is as thin as possible, and the spirits of those that failed to reach Erinn so long ago still linger...

Samhain - 1st Movement: Lost Lullaby

Kristell, the priestess of Dunbarton, is looking for help. Whispers have come through the thinning veil between the worlds, granting her a premonition of danger awaiting the bright young sailor Shenon.

As the year's end approaches and Samhain approaches, speak to Kristel[sic] to offer your assistance, and to help shoulder the load of the memories suddenly coming back to the surface of the not-so-simple priestess...[1]

Samhain - 2nd Movement: Broken Melody

The story continues as the ancient Partholonian spirits, those that failed to reach Erinn so long ago, loom ever closer. Assist the priestess Kristel's[sic] efforts to find young Shenon and confront her tortured past as a strange Milletian makes his presence known...

Join up with Kristel[sic] in Port Ceann to continue the Samhain story. You will need to have completed the 1st Movement quest in order to continue on.[2]

Samhain Hot Days

The new story means a new set of giveaways! For four weekends, starting on December 26th, we're giving out S-Coins and H-Coins to everyone that logs into Mabinogi. Each Hot Day starts and ends at Midnight, PST, so make sure you get all your coins.

    • Upon clearing the boss room, you will receive the 1st Fragment.
  6. Talk to Kristell
    • She will take the 1st Fragment from you.
    • The quest will automatically complete for 10,000 EXP.

        • You may exchange those extra fragments later at Adventurer Caravan Joe for S Coins.
  3. Talk to Kristell once all the fragments are obtained.
    • The quest will automatically complete for 10,000 EXP.

2nd Movement: Broken Melody

December 21st, 2015 - January 19th, 2016

Tips

  • If the player has already finished 2nd Movement and is looking to repeat the questline as fast as possible, they may consider purchasing several Wings of a Goddess to quickly move from Port Ceann (Event) to Dunbarton without talking to Shenon.
    • Players finishing 2nd Movement for the first time most likely don't have to worry about this due to the wait times on some of the quests.
  • In the Port Ceann Battle, the player may go near enough to enemies so that they run to the origin of the map but not aggro the player, then use a skill that hits unlimited targets such as Meteor Strike to complete the mission fast.
  • On the Ship Investigation Shadow Missions, there is a chance of a bug occuring. This bug prevents you from entering the ship even if you have the key in your inventory. If this happens, you are unable to complete the Shadow Mission. Exit the Shadow Mission and try again.
    • This bug is more likely to occur if you have a pet summoned when talking to Meyrl after you found the key.
    • It is also more likely to occur if you have a skill loaded or Outfit Action turned on when talking to Meyrl after you found the key.
  • If the player finds themselves frustrated with the sliding puzzle in the Ship Investigation Shadow Mission, it is advised that they either leave and try again to hopefully get a different minigame, or use a 3x3 sliding block puzzle solver.

    • The quest will automatically complete for 10,000 EXP and H Coin x1.

At the Door

Instruction

  1. Talk to Meryl
  2. Carry out a Ship Investigation
    • Talk to Meryl.
    • Click on the grouped up barrels and crates until you get a Suspicious Key.
      • While you can click on the entirety of the group, it is required to be near the sparkling area to search it.
    • Talk to Meryl and then click on the door.
    • You will be taken to one of three minigames:
      • The barrel minigame: Reach the end of the hallway with the doorway. There will be rolling barrels, getting hit will knock you down in place, you will not be knocked backwards. Click on the doorway, and a rhythm sequence with only the spacebar key will be triggered.
        • There is an indicator that shows when the current sequence will end.
        • You must clear the rhythm sequence 8 times in order to move on.
        • There is a chance that the rhythm sequence does not appear. You will have to restart the mission.
      • The sliding puzzle minigame: Meryl will be near a painting easel. Talk to Meryl, then click on the easel to trigger a 3x3 sliding puzzle. After completion, talk to Meryl.
      • The rhythm minigame: Meryl will be near the harp. Talk to Meryl, then click on the Harp to trigger a rhythm sequence using the WASD and spacebar keys, similar to that in the Boom Box. The game will end after scoring at least 100 points. If you fail, you must try again. After successful completion, talk to Meryl.
        • There no indicator that shows when the current sequence will end.
    • Fight Kristell and lower her HP to 10%.
  3. Talk to Meryl
  4. Talk to Kristell
    • The quest will automatically complete for 10,000 EXP and H Coin x1.
    • Wait until midnight in-game, and then change channels or relog to receive the next quest.
      • If you have previously completed 2nd Movement, you will receive the quest immediately instead of waiting.

  • A solved sliding puzzle with a revealed piece.

    • Wait until midnight in-game, and then change channels or relog to receive this quest again or the next quest.
      • If you have previously completed 2nd Movement, you will receive the quest immediately instead of waiting.

Instruction

  1. Talk to Meryl
  2. Complete Samhain Final Battle
    • Talk to Meryl three times, a cutscene will play.
    • You will be given a prompt.
      • Answering "The dead are gone. Only the living matters." will award you a Third Compass Fragment (Totem) in the next quest.
      • Answering "Family comes first." will award you a Fifth Compass Fragment (Totem) in the next quest.
      • Leaving the mission and reentering after already having answered will not alter the quest reward.
      • Repeating the movement will reward with more totems.
    • Fight Kristell.
    • Fight Laighlinne and lower her HP to 10%. In addition to having Kristell's abilities, Laighlinne can summon Skeleton Ogres. After the battle is over, a cutscene will play.
  3. Talk to Kristell
    • The quest will automatically complete for 10,000 EXP and H Coin x1.
