The Sylvan Dragon is a powerful dragon that can be encountered in Avalon as one of its Field Raid Bosses.
It used to be one of the guardians of Avalon, but it has been encroached with Unholy Light, with white crystals growing from its back, and has gone berserk.
See here for its spawn times.
- You can teleport to its location through the Town Messengers when it has spawned.
Battle Information
- As a raid boss, all Pets and Partners are forcibly de-summoned upon approaching Black Dragon.
- Be careful of its Wave of Pain, which is shown as a black circular wave that expands on the ground outwards. The only way to block it from reducing the player's health to deadly is to use Defense. Do not mistake this as needing to use Shield of Trust.
AI
- Summons Yggdrasil Wisps.
- It will move and behave similarly to a grounded Red Dragon.

Trivia
- Sylvan comes from the Latin word silva (both meaning forest).
- The Sylvan Dragon may be based on the Níðhǫggr (níð and hǫggr, meaning defamation and to strike/cut, striker/cutter), a giant Scandinavian creature that appears in the Prose Edda. It was said to gnaw at the roots of Yggdrasil, among other things.
