Talk:Fished Items List
Is there a difference depending on where you fish? (Of course, since there's only Tir Chonaill in the game for the moment, it doesn't make any difference now...) ---Kakurady 10:03, 8 April 2008 (PDT)
The types of fish might change. Time will only tell, so we'll have to wait and see once the other areas are introduced.
It appears there are Notes popping up in the other fishing areas. Emain now had some implemented as well. --Sherida 22:12, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
Event fishing?
Maybe we should add a separate section for the current Thanksgiving Event? Or maybe add them to the list according to towns and label them as event items?
Also, is a red crossbow from Tir a event item? I found one while I was fishing and I'm wondering if I should add it to the list of Tir items. --Kevin 04:57, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- I say make an event section for it. Otherwise it will confuse people when the event is over. ---Angevon
Wishlists are an event only fishing item for the Holidays. - Sherida
Housing Area Fishing?
Since both housing (castle) areas have lakes, does anyone know if they are fishable and/or different items available? --Sherida 17:28, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- I've been fishing there and so far all the items I fished are the same as the items in Tir, same fishies too. =/ --Lloyd 12:50PM, 21 December 2008 (EST)
King of fishing title?
Is Carnivorous Fish caught in the pond or the river in Tir Chonaill? Also, any confirmed reports of it being caught via the "auto-fish" method would be helpful. Thanks in advance. ^^ Insensate
Update: I caught it in the pond with "auto-fish." I am still unsure as to whether it is possible to catch it in the river. Insensate 02:15, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- The title "King of Fishing" can also be obtained at Lake Neagh in Abb Neagh via auto-fishing since this was how I got mine. A super rare catch, no doubt. --Lt. Jessie 22:20, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Fishing with Event Bait.
I think people need to becareful with adding items to fishing list when they are using Event Bait. I noticed when using event bait you get items like Owl Figures and Pots that you would not get when using normal bait. --Sai 22:37, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
New Fished Items?
I'm not sure if 'Emain MAcha' includes all of the map, including everywhere you can fish around Emain without walking out of the map. IF it does, I will add 'Collect 10 Dingo Fomor Scrolls' to the Quest Scroll list.
I think [we] could/can seperate collecting quests and hunting quests- like collect 10 nails, etc.
-Imi
edit: I put in the redirect page...
I caught a Black colored blade Gargoyle Sword in Tir's lake awhile back ago, its rare upon the rare. I have caught a total of 4 others before this one. I can screenshot it for proof. -NINE
Lake Neagh and Flying Fish
Flying fish made up about 45 percent of my catches. If anyone else has had a similar experience, it's probably worth mentioning. Also, you can check out what I caught by going to my personal page --~Shadoe 14:16, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- same here, but the other was mystic pearls(23). So, im changing it 2 a not rare item --GravityKirby 23:47, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
Abb Neagh Carp Help
There are at least two pages for it. One called "Carp" is more complete, and one called "Abb Neagh Carp" is inactive. I added the fish to the types of fish from Abb Neagh Lake, but we need to fix the fish pages so it links to something either correct or active. Maybe "carp" is a different fish, but it looks the same. To prevent any extra edits, I'm no longer catching flying fish, but I don't know if anyone else has. We may need to remove it and the note about them being common--~Shadoe 04:52, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
- Someone else can add Sweetfish, Catfish, and Abb Neagh Carp to the list of fished items for Neagh Lake since someone doesn't seem to like that I added them and took them off, unless I'm having issues with cookies. I've also fished the new/changed leather shoes, stone and snow golem crystals, water/wind/fire crystals, and barrior spike crystals. Someone did redirect Carp to Abb Neagh Carp - thank you. All Lake Neagh fish seem to be new, replacing what was available there before, not just the flying fish. --~Shadoe 09:19, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Garbage?
Under The Fishing Boat Section, it says: Predominantly Equipments, Garbage, and Fish. could someone plase specify what is meant by "Garbage"? because that is a very vague way of derscribing it.
I guess what they meant by that was, the misc. items and items that are not much worth in value. SoraHikari 23:35, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Emain Fished Items
I was reading the discussion and someone mentioned something about different stuff in different areas. If that is true, then I think we need to mention the location, like we have in Tir, because on the list there claims to be Owl Figurines in Emain, but I haven't caught any of those since the gold items/robe fishing events. So unless someone can put a location, I bolded the Owl Figurine because I've been fishing in Emain for a LONG time and have yet to catch one where I am since the event.
Look at fishing with event bait section. --User:Fallenone
Tir Lake and River Terms
I'm probably being too picky, but shouldn't they be stream and reservoir instead of river and lake? That's how they are referred to in the game. --~Shadoe 10:32, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Lake and river are more easily understood than reservoir. --- Angevon (Talk) 14:54, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- For a very long time I have doubted the concept of diffrent items in lake vs river... and in the past have confirmed some of the once thought river or lake only items can be achieved in both... The issue becomes some of those items are sooo rare to catch one at all lake or river is a miracle and people don't often see two super rare items unless they fish constantly like i do.. I am one of the few rank 2 fisherman in tarlach... I'll try to do most of my fishing to reach rank one in tir to try and dispell this myth. From Ariel 17:22, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
- okay so I just need to fish up a claymore a skimask and a twin horn cap to dispell this myth at the river.. though tbh I believe I once fished the cap from the river it's been to long to say for sure... so I'll do it again :/ From Ariel 14:08, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
- Can reconfirm Gargoyle sword is river and lake... cuaght one today.. From Ariel 04:04, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

I fished one of these up at Port Cohb. I have rank 1 fishing, using the fishing 2nd title with a regular bait tin. Fishing pole has auto fishing success rate 2. Not wearing the Adonis Set. This character has done none of the event stuff to have skills to use Dorcha. I'm going to assume that it's rare. I caught it using less that 150 bait. It's listed on the page for the item, but not listed here. I don't know if it should go here or not too.
It is kind of rare, but it's like a skill book page. Every character only needs it once maximum, and only if/when they do the specific chain skill, if they're not doing chains they won't need it. Looks like it averages about 400K on Ruairi.
But yeah since it's location-specific and doesn't rely on a quest to drop it should go here too.
When trying to complete fishing mastery, the hardest requirement to complete seems to be "catch a quest scroll", so the obvious question is: "At what location do quest scrolls make up the largest proportion of the catches?"
Here's my smallish sample so far. I may add to this over time. I'm ignoring locations which are clearly non-contenders when it comes to quest scrolls. Physis homestead figures should match Physis Ice Fishing. Currently Sen Mag Castle lake has the best rate, but if suffers from not having a nearby NPC to sell catches to.
Location | Sample Size (total catches) | Fish | Quest scrolls | Items | Scroll % |
Sen Mag Castle Lake | 51 | 28 | 11 | 12 | 22% |
Ceo Island | 31 | 12 | 5 | 14 | 16% |
Port Ceann | 43 | 27 | 7 | 11 | 16% |
Physis Homestead | 26 | 4 | 14 | 8 | 15% |
I've been having a closer look at the castle lakes. I've now got a character to rank 1 fishing, and with the appropriate title it gets 100% autofishing success. The ratios below are all fish:scrolls:items.
Abb Neagh Castle Lake: From 1 bait tin, got 171:7:122. Only 2% scrolls, so not worth considering further.
For the other 2 lakes, a ran 2 bait tins through each.
Dugald Aisle Castle Lake: Got 351:117:132. So 19.5% scrolls.
Sen Mag Castle Lake: Got 325:134:141. So 22.33% scrolls.
It'll need a larger sample to determine whether the difference from these last 2 is statistically significant. It might just be normal random variation. But they do both seem to be clearly better than any other sites when you're grinding through the rank 1 requirement for quest scrolls to get mastery.
You should try the homestead again. Your original scroll % has a mistake and should be much higher. 14/26 is over 50%.
Oops. Yes; definitely something dodgy there. Unfortunately I didn't keep the paper copy so I can't trace the problem, but I would have noticed a success rate over 50% if it were true. I suspect I accidentally switched the "Fish" and "Quest scroll" numbers for the Physis Homestead when typing them in here. 4/26 gives the 15%.
On the castle lake front, I've put another bait tin through each of the more favourable locations. So for 900 attempts at each I've got:
Dugald Aisle Castle Lake: Got 519:176:205. So 19.6% scrolls.
Sen Mag Castle Lake: Got 494:196:210. So 21.8% scrolls.
The character I've been doing these experiments is about to hit the maximum required for fish, making working out an exact count problematic, so I won't be extending any of these counts further in the near future. I might extend them further when another character gets to level 1 fishing.
And finally, almost a year later, here's more data. Ignore all my previous comments about fishing at Reus River and Physis homestead. I was operating on the assumption they were identical, and it seems they are not.
Here's the data from running 5 bait tins through Reus River ice fishing.
Fish: 468. Scrolls: 755. Items: 277. So 50.3% scrolls.
Given the tendency to choose round numbers for parameters like this, a plausible guess is that the true underlying probability of scrolls is 50%.
Now here's a surprising bit. I ran 2 bait tins through a Physis Homestead.
Fish: 332. Scrolls: 110. Items: 158. Only 18.3% scrolls.
So, it has been alleged elsewhere that Reus River fishing and Physis homestead fishing are identical. They may be using the same lists of fish, scrolls and items, but they are definitely not using the same probabilities for those 3 things.
So, an efficient way to train level 1 fishing is:
- Fish at Reus River, which has the highest quest scroll rate, until quest scrolls are complete. (Do NOT use Physis Homestead.)
- Then, fish at Port Cobh, which has no quest scrolls, until fish are complete.
- Finally, fish at Avon, which has only items, until items are complete.
I have a feeling these ARE event only items and should not be added. At least not until the event ends and it can be confirmed. The new items from the list should be removed for now.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Sort of like a gacha, Nexon simply doesn't mention all the filler items and only posts things people may have an interest on(not really).
I know in Port Cobb it's listed as a rare drop, but I've been fishing there for days, with about 2 bait tins each day due to work/sleep, and have yet to get it. I have a luxury bag with rows free just for book sized catches, but haven't gotten it. Is it not considered equipment? It feels like it's as rare as the rosemary glove pattern. I've currently switched to an item fishing pole to see if that will help, but I'm not so sure. I also only auto-fish.
I suggest either a list of underwater inhabitants or a link to a page of the underwater inhabitants, because right now the link goes to sahagin, and they are not the only monsters that spawn (that's one thing I haven't seen spawn at all myself). Other monster spawn if you fish in different areas. There are trolls, for example.
So far, I've only been fishing up items and the River Sahagins. I have yet to see fishing up other mob types.
I also think that the 2 different areas give different things too. I fished in the river for quite some time, and I get things that I didn't get in the troll area. Things like jellyfish and striped marlin were pretty common in the river, but I still haven't caught a either one in the troll spot. There's also stuff in the troll spot that I haven't caught in the river too. Stuff like sunfish, but I know i caught rainbow trouts in both spots. Can anyone else check this out? I caught a bracer knuckle manual in the ocean area, and it might be an ocean thing.
Ok, I was partly wrong, those are sahagin at the river area, they just didn't look like the sahagin I'm familiar with and I was busy running away. So I've had sea trolls in the ocean/southwest area and river sahagin fighers and river sahagin rangers at the river area. I'm going to start keeping track of what areas give what fish/items.
I never get any item when I fish a spawn, so i think it's safe to assume the spawn is the fishing reward, and since they differ based on where you are, that means these two spots have different fishing lists.
Does anyone who got the meditation book remember where it was?
Interesting, can you post more of your findings? Like what kind of items, monsters, etc you found in one and how it differed from the other? (And say where you think the demarcation line is.)
I'm not sure what you mean by "demarcation line".
So far, I've only gotten king crab, golden scale fish and deep-sea fish from the ocean(south/troll) area, and I've only gotten sweetfish and taitinn carp from the river(north/sahagin) area. I've gotten flying fish from both. I've stopped fishing at the north because the south is much safer(slower aggro, slower movement, less frequent attacks, no f***ing teleport, and they only use melee; whereas river rangers seem to triple aggro instantly, and spam teleport and high ranked lightning if i try to run).
Also, during the costume/homestead fishing event, I stayed there for hours and didn't get a single spawn with the event bait.(more evidence that it's part of the fish list rather than a feature of the map)
I've gotten a lot of things on the list at both places, the rates are just really different I think. I got quite a few meditation books and bracer manuals from the ocean though. I'll spend a couple tins at the river and see what happens.
With 300 bait at the river I got: monster: 58, food waste: 16, king crab: 6, golden scale fish: 7, Garbage herb: 19, belvast eel: 19, hp 30: 9, hp 50: 8, mp 30: 9, mp 50: 11, sp 30: 15, sp 50: 8, bracer knuckle manual: 1, taitinn carp: 12, bandage: 7, jellyfish: 16, rainbow trout: 10, sweetfish: 5, striped marlin: 11, deep sea fish: 5 I'm pretty sure I didn't get everything in this batch, but really this is pretty different catches than the ocean area that I usually fish at.
With 30 bait at the ocean I got: cor medi book: 1, food waste: 3, sunfish: 1, flying fish: 1, garbage herb: 1, hp 50: 2, monster: 6, rainbow trout: 1, mp 50: 1, sp 30: 2, golden scale fish: 1, ray: 1, reef lobster: 1, hp 30: 1, angler fish: 1, mp 30: 1. This is good enough for me to know they give different things lol. If someone else wants to fill in more stuff go ahead, but I'm done.
I believe the homestead areas affect the types of fish and items that can be fished. I suggest creating different sections for each homestead area (Uladh, Connous, Physis)
The Uladh Fishing List is identical to Tir Chonaill, the Connous one is identical to Rano's Fishing Boat, and the Physis one is identical to Reus River in Physis. No need to make new sections for them.
It's already written on their respective pages and the difference between housing and homestead fishing areas is that Homestead ones are exactly identical.
Why is there even a homestead fishing list? I thought Uladh is Tir Chonaill, Connous is Fishing Boat and Physis is Ice Fishing?
After a couple some hours fishing in my Connous homestead, I don't think the same as the Fishing Boat one, at least in terms of items. I did not fish up any treasure chests, I got tons of 10/30 potions. The fish I got were from the same list though.
Hmm, that may be true for just the Connous homestead. (They want people to go to a specific area and have a specific title to get good items.) Has anyone else tested this with other types of homesteads?
it seems same to me :x
maybe they just balanced chance of getting highly valued item from Connous since fishing boat compared to Tir Chonail and Vales is not fair?
I guess... but no chests at all after 12 hours of fishing doesn't seem right. At the least, homestead ones don't have any chests.
I forgot to mention it, but the Uladh homestead pond is strange too. I got countless Mongo Traveller Suit (M/F) there, and those are definitely not on Tir's list. Also, during the Eweca event, I fished there for hours at a time, but I never caught a Carniverous fish (and then the moment I go to Tir to fish, I get one).
Don't know about Physis, though I hear you can get Sturgeon from the Physis one.
