Introduction

The Echostone is an item that was released as part of the Memento update and can be used in order to give a player extra stat points as well as useful reforge effects. There are 5 different types of Echostones and they can be obtained from both Sidhe Finnachaid end chests, as well as from completing the Memento storyline.

Details

Upgrading Echostones.
  • There are five different varieties of Echostone which give different stat bonuses, which are stored in the inventory like normal equipment. A player can equip up to three Echostones at once, which all have to be of different colors. Once the stones are equipped, awakened, or advanced, it becomes bound to the player.
  • Echostones do not have durability nor do they expire but the Echostone equipment tab has a timer that represents how long the player can use the tab before they have to renew it.
    • The Echostone equipment tab can have a maximum of 30 days left.
    • Up to 7 days of time may be added to the tab by clearing Sidhe Finnachaid. If you do not have enough room to add another 7 days, the total will cap out at 30 days.
    • Players with VIP Premium Service have access to an Echostone tab that does not expire for the full duration of their service.
    • Echostones that were equipped prior to their timer expiring remain in the Echostone equipment window, although they will not provide any bonuses. Echostones can be unequipped while the equipment tab has no time left, but Echostones cannot be equipped when the timer has run out. This includes both new Echostones and previously worn ones.
  • An Echostone at the maximum grade of 30 will provide a unique glow effect under the player who has it equipped. This unique glow will increase in radius for every grade 30 Echostone equipped.
    • Players may turn off this visual effect by right-clicking on their grade 30 Echostones and selecting disable.
  • After completing Sidhe Finnachaid, the Ancient Music Box will appear behind the altar. Using the Ancient Music Box will allow you to advance, awaken, or fragment your Echostones.

Advancing

Grade 30 Glow (One)
Grade 30 Glow (Two)
Grade 30 Glow (Three)
  • Stones can be upgraded after clearing any of the Sidhe Finnachaid dungeons.
  • Upon defeating the Song of Grief at the end of Sidhe Finnachaid, the player has a chance to interact with the Ancient Music Box in order to advance their Echostones.
    • The player is given 5 attempts at advancing per Sidhe Finnachaid run. This total does not change on dungeon difficulty.
  • The success rate is based on the current Grade of the Echostone, as well as the difficulty of the dungeon.
    • Clearing the dungeon on harder difficulties (i.e. Intermediate and Advanced) increases the advancing success chance.
    • The different versions of Sidhe Finnachaid (Curiosity, Fear, Sorrow) have no effect on the advancing success chances.
  • Various Events and Potions can provide an additional increase to the success rate:
    • During any Event that provides the Echostone Success Boost, the success rate is increased by an additive +10% for the Event's duration.
    • An Echostone Advancement Assist Potion.png Echostone Advancement Assist Potion can be used to increase the success rate by an additive +10% for one attempt.
  • Each successful advancing increases the upgrade level by one, which increases the Echostone's stat(s) by a random number based on the current Grade of the Echostone.
    • You can also reroll the current grades stats with an Echostone Supplement.
    • Failing an advancement will reduce grade from 25 and on.
      • Example: Failing to advance while at grade 25 will drop grade to 24; Failing to advance while at grade 26 will drop grade to 25, etc.
  • Advancing an Echostone will personalize it to the character, regardless if it was equipped prior to upgrading it.

The average number of attempts required to advance an echostone can be calculated:

  • Before grade 25: 1 / (Success Chance)
  • After grade 25: ((1 - (Success Chance)) * (Previous Average Attempts) + 1) / (Success Chance)
  • The previous table represents the average number of attempts required to advance an Echostone to the next Grade.
    • These are calculated assuming you only attempt to advance using the same difficulty.
  • Note: At Grades 25 and beyond the number greatly increases due to the possibility of Grade reduction.

Awakening

-Echostone-
  • Stones can also be Awakened, which is very similar to the normal reforging process.
    • The process requires both an Awakening Stimulant and Ability Points.
    • Awakening an Echostone will Personalize it.
    • You do not need any traditional Reforging Tools to Awaken an Echostone.
  • It costs Ability Points to awaken an Echostone. This cost is initially 2 AP and increases with each awakening.
    • The Awakening cost will increase up to 1971 AP at the most, but the cost is reset when the player exits the dungeon.
  • The Minimum Effect possible is determined by the quality of the Awakening Stimulant.
    • Regular Echostone Awakening Stimulants have a Minimum of Level 0 for all Awakening Effects. They can be used in all difficulties.
    • Fine Echostone Awakening Stimulants increase the Minimum to ~15% of the Maximum Level. They can be used in Intermediate or above difficulties.
    • Finest Echostone Awakening Stimulants increase the Minimum to ~20% of the Maximum Level. They can only be used in the Advanced difficulty.
    • The effect of Awakening Stimulants is rounded down, meaning that Awakening Effects that have an absolute Maximum of 20 benefit most from higher-quality stimulants.
      • In example, Finest on an Awakening Effect that has a Level 20 Maximum will roll no lower than Level 4.
      • Similarly, Finest on an Awakening Effect that has a Level 10 Maximum will roll no lower than Level 2.
  • The Maximum Effect possible is determined by the Grade Level of the Echostone.
    • In example, it is impossible to get a Level 20 Awakening Effect (for Awakenings that have an absolute Maximum of 20) before Grade 30.
      • Similarly, it is impossible to get a Level 3 Awakening Effect (for Awakenings that have an absolute Maximum of 3) before Grade 26.

Echostone Types

Echostone Exclusive Reforges

  • Some Echostone Awakening effects are exclusive to the Echostones and can't be obtained by regular Reforging.
    • For the entire list of Echostone Awakening effects, go to the individual Echostone pages.
  • The exclusive Echostones effects include:

Fragmenting

  • Unwanted or extra Echostones can be broken down into Awakening Stimulants, Supplements, and other random items.
    • The Guaranteed rewards that are given out are based on the Grade of the Echostone.
    • Echostone Fragmentation is not to be confused with the Alchemy Skill, Fragmentation.
  • Note: The Ancient Magic Powder obtained from Echostone Fragmentation will not stack with ones obtained from other sources (i.e. Ancient Monsters), but can be otherwise traded and will stack with other Powders obtained from Echostone Fragmentation.

Guaranteed Items

Randomized Items

  • One of these items will always be given out alongside the Guaranteed Echostone Fragmentation rewards.
    • Starting at Grade 10, Echostone Fragmentation has a chance to give out a rare item instead, depending on the color of the stone.
