A player successfully using Rare Mineralogy to gather ore fragments.

Description

Lets you gather and research rare minerals from Hillwen Mine. You need a Mining Drill to gather the ore.

Details

• Passively increases the success rate, reduces the time needed to drill, and grants a chance for the ore pile to drop multiple resources at once.
• Equip a Mining Drill and click on a deposit to gather resources.
  • Gathering will continue automatically until the skill is canceled, stamina is depleted, an enemy attacks, or a failure to collect occurs.
    • When gathering fails, the player will be knocked back.
  • Base collecting time is 4 seconds.
  • Each success depletes the number of remaining materials in a deposit by one, even if a lucky bonus or the skill bonus multiplies that one into two or more, regardless of which item is obtained.
  • Each gathering attempt reduces the Mining Drill's Durability by 0.1.
• Deposits can only be found in Hillwen Mine.
  • There are multiple kinds of patches, based on location and appearance, and each has its own time between respawns, amount of materials that can be gathered, base success rate, and success reward probability list.
  • Snow does not increase the number of materials that can be gathered from a given location.
  • Available materials do not regenerate over time; the gather point must be exhausted and a new one spawn to re-fill.

Purchase a Mining Drill from the grandmaster engineer at Hillwen Mine and equip it.

Training Method

Tips

• When gathering from the large Hillwen deposit in Floor B3, you will receive two counts of training rather than one. The gathering success rate from the large deposit is 100% regardless of rank, so this may be the ideal method to train the skill quickly, provided that it can be done so safely.
• Obtaining multiple ores will count towards each training requirement it meets; For example, gathering 4 ores will train the 4 ore requirement, as well as the 3 and 2 ore requirements simultaneously, while getting 3 ore at once will only count towards 3 and 2.
