Spirit Weapon
- For the pre-G24 version of this feature, see Classic Spirit Weapons.
- For all dialogue options and the spirits' responses, see here.
Spirit Weapons, also known as Egos, are utilized by casting a spirit onto a desirable weapon in order to awaken one's true strength. This spirit ascension process allows for a weapon to become even more powerful than it otherwise would.
Basic Information
- A spirit contract is a system which allows you to house a spirit in a weapon of your choice. The contracted spirit has its own name, appearance, and levels for growth. Growing the spirit's levels will reward you with ego points which can be allocated to gain powerful passive bonuses related to the weapon or talent used with that weapon, as well as gaining a powerful spirit Awakening attack skill.
- The spirit contract system has capabilities and rules that are important to know before you make a mistake and end up wanting to destroy the contract and start over.
- Most importantly, a Spirit's appearance can never be changed and missed Ego Points can never be recovered. Please read before doing anything.
- The default appearance of a spirit contracted weapon is a large glowing orb that correlates with the level of the spirit. The appearance can be changed using a Spirit Transformation Liqueur.
- When a spirit is contracted with a weapon, the weapon cannot be traded even if a Trade Unlock Potion is used, nor can they be dropped or stored in the Bank or on Pets. They can only be stored in your Inventory or the Me Tab. Functionality is restored if the spirit is transferred away.
- To interact with your spirit, press the / key or click the Spirit Weapon button in the game's Menu Bar.
- Spirit contracts can be transferred to different weapons, including different weapon types, without any penalty whatsoever.
- Because your spirit contracts are able to be placed on and transferred to any other weapon. You don't need to choose their name and appearance with the idea that it's bound to that weapon. Create a lasting partnership with the name and appearance you really like.
- Without downsides, it's always beneficial to have a full roster of spirit contracts and to level them all up.
- For returning players, the new spirit contracts remove any downsides that have been part of the classic spirit weapon system.
- The spirit is independent of the weapon, meaning the weapon can now be blessed, repaired, upgraded, special upgraded, and erg'd like any other weapon.
- Players may now choose any of the spirit avatars regardless of the weapon type.
- Spirit level colors are identical, only now the glow effect might move around the weapon instead of staying in place.
Spirit Ascension Requirements
To utilize the spirit ascension service and create a spirit contract, you must reach cumulative level 500 and then complete the given quest Meeting the Ancient Spirit up to the point of showing Berched the materials needed and ready to form a spirit contract.
After completing the quest, you can talk to Berched and select Spirit Weapon to see a menu allowing you to create an additional spirit contract, convert a classic spirit weapon, transfer one of your exisiting spirit contracts to another weapon, or destroy a contract.
- You are allowed to have up to 6 spirit contracts or 5 spirit contracts and 1 classic spirit weapon.
- Your spirit contract names do not have server-unique requirements, meaning you can name them without regard to names other players have given their spirits.
- Your spirit contract names must be unique from each other. You cannot name a new spirit or convert a classic spirt weapon and give it the same name as one of your existing spirit contracts.
Berched's Spirit Weapon Services
Spirit Contract
- Allows you to form a new contract with a spirit, attaching it to one of your weapons. You will be asked to give your spirit contract a name and appearance from the list of all available spirits.
- You will need a weapon to house the new spirit, 5 Elemental Removers 100, and 1 Magical Spirit Stone100.
Spirit Conversion
- Allows you convert a classic spirit weapon into a modern type spirit contract. You will be asked to give your spirit contract a name and appearance from the list of all available spirits. The weapon will be reset to its original stats, including bonus stats it may have had from being a monster drop or bonus stats from blacksmithing quality (grade). The weapon will keep its item colors.
- You cannot reverse the change after converting the classic spirit weapon. Classic spirit weapons can no longer be created.
- You will need the classic spirit weapon being converted, 5 Elemental Removers 100, 1 Magical Spirit Stone100, and 1 Spirit Liqueur100.
Classic Spirit Weapon Level* | Conversion Level Bonus |
---|---|
Level 1~29 | +5 |
Level 30~34 | +10 |
Level 35~39 | +15 |
Level 40~44 | +22 |
Level 45~47 | +30 |
Level 48~50 | +40 |
*Conversion uses the Classic Spirit Weapon's stat with the highest level for conversion bonus purposes.
Example: A Classic Spirit Weapon with a Luck Level of 50 and other levels at 45 will convert into a Level 90 Spirit Weapon.
- Discontinued items related to classic spirit weapons will no longer be usable on the spirit after conversion.
- A converted classic spirit weapon will receive the maximum number of ego points as would have been obtained if it had been leveled through the current system with maximum bond at each level.
- The spirit's calling quests will be given for every level requirement reached and must still be done in order.
Spirit Transfer
- Allows you to transfer a spirit contract from a weapon to another weapon. You are allowed to transfer to a different weapon type (e.g. sword to staff). You will be asked to give your spirit contract a name, thus you are able to change a spirit's name through this process but the spirit's appearance cannot be changed. The weapon your spirit is currently attached to will be unchanged other than no longer housing the spirit.
- If the target weapon is a different weapon type from the original (e.g. one-handed sword to two-handed sword), all ego points must be unallocated in order to transfer. You may use the Spirit Enhancement menu and press Reset to unallocate ego points.
- The spirit will retain everything except favorite gem type if the weapon type is different. You will not lose spirit transformation liqueurs, bond, levels, experience, ego points, or calling quest progress.
- You will need the existing spirit weapon, the weapon you want to transfer it to, 5 Elemental Removers 100 and 1 Spirit Liqueur 100.
Destroy Contract
- Allows you to destroy a contract with a spirit. It makes the spirit it go away forever. The weapon your spirit is currently attached to will be unchanged other than no longer housing the spirit. This is only a good idea if you don't like the spirit's avatar appearance or you dislike that the spirit did not get maximum ego points from full bond bonus. If you just want a different name or weapon, consider doing a spirit transfer which allows you to change name and weapon.
- You will need the existing spirit weapon, 5 Elemental Removers 100, 1 Memory Spirit Liqueur 100, and 1 Empty Spirit Stone 100.
- Upon destroying the contract, a Remembering Spirit Stone 100 will be received if the spirit's level is 5 or higher. Only half of the spirit's total level (rounded down) will be preserved in the stone as spirit EXP, the rest is lost forever.
- Remembering Spirit Stone cannot be transferred to another character through bank, pets, or other means.
- A message will be shown showing how many levels will be preserved before the contract is destroyed.
- You will still have the option to cancel when this message is shown.
- Upon destroying the contract, a Remembering Spirit Stone 100 will be received if the spirit's level is 5 or higher. Only half of the spirit's total level (rounded down) will be preserved in the stone as spirit EXP, the rest is lost forever.

- The Spirit Contract with Eiry cannot be destroyed.
- Forming a contract with Eiry will not take up an existing spirit slot, as Eiry is housed in a permanent slot, separate from other spirit contracts.
- Eiry will always receive all available bonus Ego Points when leveling up (levels 54->55, 59->60, etc.) regardless of her Spirit Bond.
- Unlike other spirits, clicking the Chat tab in her Spirit window and choosing any one of the keywords will fill up the bond meter to 100%.
- Other food provided to Eiry will also gain a greater EXP bonus.
Transformation
- To change the effect of the Spirit Weapon, you will need to use a Spirit Transformation Liqueur. (You do not need to talk to Berched for transformations)

- Right-clicking a Liqueur on the window will remove the liqueur from the window. (Caution: You will not receive the chosen liqueur item back!)
- Unlike the Spirit Weapon glow colors based on levels, the effect colors from Spirit Transformation Liqueurs have their own colors based on the Spirit Weapon level.

- Though unlike Classic Spirits, the stats (STR,INT,DEX,etc) no longer exist and only the Social Level remains, renamed as the Spirit Level.
- Up to 30 items/equipment/gems may be fed at a time.
- The amount of experience received is determined on the type of item and gem size.
- Each spirit weapon type will have a preferred gem, which will give them bonus experience when fed.

*For the purposes of Spirit Calling quests, Eiry still requires the preferred gem that matches her current weapon type.
- There is a 10% chance to receive a Great Success on feeding, netting double the experience points of how much that would usually be received.
- Therefore it is recommended to always give the spirit half the experience of what is needed to level up in case the great success activates.
- Raising the spirit's bond meter before feeding is recommended as it will increase the experience multiplier.
- There are two ways to raise the bond meter:
- 1. Remaining in combat with the spirit weapon equipped for 5 minutes will fill up the bond meter by 5% (Exp +1%)
- This can be done by letting monsters attack you. (Make sure to remove equipped gear first to avoid durability loss)
- 2. Clicking the Chat tab in the Spirit window and choosing any of the keywords will fill up the bond meter by 10% (Exp +2%)
- Three keywords can be used once a game-day (36 minutes), filling the bond meter by 30% (Exp +6%).
- The reset time for the keywords happens at 6 a.m. ingame.
- Eiry will gain 100% bond with just one keyword.
- To see all dialogue options and the spirits' responses, see here.

- It is possible to exclude equipment and miscellaneous items from Spirit Feeding.
- To seal an item, right-click items that appear in the Etc. tab to select them; then click the "Seal Item" button to seal them.

- Selecting 1 Misc. item of the same type will automatically select all items, and they will appear as 1 Misc. Item in the Sealed tab regardless of how many items of the same type are in the inventory.
- The Empty Bottle, Poison Bottle, Strawberry Cookie Wand, Chocolate Cookie Wand, and Vanilla Cookie Wand are all considered Misc. items despite being equipment.
Ego Points
