In the db files, "Anohana", or "Commerce Partner" is defined as a human/female within it's StringID, but unlike other partners (Maid/Butlers), their RaceDesc is defined as "menma/none", menma being their race, and none being their gender. Previous partners have been defined as "human/gender", gender being their respective gender, allowing them to equip equipment normally. But because menma has not been defined clearly by the client, they are not treated as normal humans. They are allowed to dual wield/lance/etc, but they will not be able to wield them correctly until the "menma" race has been defined.
Since I do not have a commerce partner, I cannot actually test this completely, so until nexon fixes this issue, commerce partners will be unable to do anything correctly that not all races can do (dual wield (human/giant), equip lances(human/giant), etc.) Changing it in the db files will most likely not work, as race has to match both the client and the server, with server having higher precedence.
I do have a commerce partner and have tested this theory by editing the race.xml in the package files and changing the "menma/none" to "human/gender" does fix the glitchy issue with the dual wield/lance/etc.
As an update on this bug, I had a friend of mine pass this info onto the GMs to fix and it seems whoever did the fix copied the line for the Commerce Partner in the race.xml and edited the copy to apply the fix. The client of course only loads the first instance of any race info it finds and ignores duplicate IDs, thus the bug remains. I'll get the GMs to remove the unedited line hopefully by the G17 patch.
I saw somewhere (I can;t remember where) that there was a way to fix this client side by editing a file. Can anyone tell me how to do this? or perhaps put the fixed file at the top of the page, like with the lyre fix?
No, because it would be a mod.
The lyre fix isn't a mod and still exists in the Lyre and Hand Chimes pages.
No, with the commerce partner on your back, you are unable to do lance charge or any kind of combat of any kind.
I think you mean..."You're not a horse with a lance equipped to the side you know."
neh other than that, Dias is correct. I don't even think you can load any skills prior to the mounting. o-o
Either the inability to use combat skills while she it piggyback is a glitch or you having all you combat ability is a glitch. I, like you am unable to do anything but run while she is riding on me, but I have 3 friends that I have seen attack, use windmill, smash, throwing attack, charge and lance charge while she is riding them.
That's not a glitch, it's intended and even on the Partners page.
If she's like Maids and Butlers, you have to reach 80 disposition before she can actually help you gather.
As for being unable to dismount her, I'm assuming this is because you're using a certain weapon combination?
I see, I didn't read that partner page. And I'm sure they not modding because two of them are real life friends and one of those friends had to have me set up the game on his computer because he couldn't figure it out. So I hardly think he would be able to install any mods, let alone mod it himself.
They are all giant and so am I but I'm the only one who cant use any skills or even use basis attack out of the four of us.
What about the partner's level and disposition? Do any of them have multiple characters on that account? If so, ask them to try on another character.
The only fried I could get hold of today says that he only has that one character. He has 2 partners and he told me there dispositions are +17 and -147. Neither of their levels is over 20. He went on to show me he could use skills while either of them were piggyback. On another note, I have heard people complaining that you cant give your commerce partner a salary on Saturday/She takes the money but her disposition remains the same.
Wait, there are people who are able to give her a salary at all? (Albeit one that doesn't give disposition.) And I'm sorry, I'm out of possible explanations. =S
I cant say for certain, on account of me not witnessing it first-hand. All I can be certain of is that i talked to two people who claimed that they gave her money and received nothing for it. On another side note, I find it incredibly irritating that the commerce partner has a robe equipment slot yet you cannot gift her a robe.
Commerce partners do not have salaries. Also their double gathering is unlocked past 200 disposition and they do not have triple gathering at all.
Can you ask the person who was capable of paying her a salary if her stress level changed at all after paying? Or if nothing change besides money loss? (Or if you even lose your money.)
Commerce partner has no salary button at all. Nada. Zilch. You can't pay a salary unless he is thinking of the ducat favor quest.
Did you read what Godwrath said? He said that some people still get a button but don't get any disposition gain. Likewise, some people can fight her on your back.
So I just tested fighting while mounted with commerce partner with a fixed xml, it still didn't let me fight with her on my back. (And it took away her running animation since its not defined for every female human.) So it's probably not a mod that caused your friend's abilities. Can you ask if you can see them do it first hand?
By that I mean, you can't just make a 17 year old female human and get Commerce Partner's running animation since the server and animation.anievent(?) hasn't set normal females to use that animation over the regular running animations. So most of commerce partner's nongesture animations should stop working if you were to modify the files, unless you wait for a fix on NA's part to finish the menma AI server-sided. But the point is, changing her defined species type didn't allow people to fight while mounted, since Godwrath1 knows people who have been able to do that.
Thats just the thing. I have seen them do it first hand. I have been talking to the guy i saw do it and he claims that he can't. I came to the conclusion that when I saw him using combat skills with her on his back that it must have been due to some kind of lag. We ran a tests while running dungeons and it seems that this event only occurs while the commerce partner is dual wielding. It seems that her dismount animation gets stuck. We were able to recreate the event only once and it had to do with a dual wielding partner dismounting, then him immediately using windmill. But like I said we could only make it happen once so that might not be what caused it. IF anyone else can recreate it some other way please let me know.
When my commerce partner is dual wielding, her animation gets stuck and she moves sluggishly. When I give her a piggyback ride, she appears to be standing on my shoulders frozen. When she is in battle it looks like the mobs are fighting a teleporting invisible target. Is anyone else getting this problem?
Sluggish? Sounds like you gave her slow hit weapons o-o though I could be wrong. And I have seen some odd mountings on some people, but it's due to the lag of loading them properly.
When I said "moves sluggishly", I did not mean her attack speed; I was talking about her running speed. When I made her target a mob while she was barehanded, she runs normally. When I switched her weapon set to dual wielding, she goes into the idle-pose-animation and inches forward very slowly. Changing her weapon set back to barehanded makes her run normally. Switching back to dual wielding, she resumes inching forward. She essentially can't "run" while dual wielding. Or anything else.
Ignoring the "alternative" definition of that, does this mean that you're carrying this partner on your back during commerce, or was something lost in translation?
You carry her on your back when she mounts on outside of commerce. When in commerce, she rides your elephant or wagon. (Baggage and hand cart are not.)
The motivation of carrying someone so cute and small (Chibi perhaps...?) causes the person to suddenly have an increase in speed...Anime Logic O-o;;
Maybe the one getting the piggyback ride has a whip/is dangling a carrot in front of the one giving a ride? o3o; (Real world logic XD)
Her pig tails turns into revolving motors that propels you like a plane's propeller. Or maybe your character is a loli lover who gains energy to run faster because a 'washboard' is on his/her back.
Any chance you can actually do combat with her mounted on top of you?
I do not know, but I would think they'd be similar to the sprites and their wings, except instead of adding to defense/protection it adds to running speed.
Elf + Awakening of Light + Commerce Washboard + Shylock action = Turbo Elf.
200% + 50% + 50% + 100% = 400%
1.32x =/= 2x.
Movement bonuses do not stack. They all fall under the same status effect, the one with the highest speed takes precedence.
Uh, try Elf + Max Wave Sweeper + Piggyback'd + Movement Speed Pot + Shylock's Steps.
Shylocks Steps and Wave Sweepers don't stack, the faster one replaces the other. Movement speed potion and piggyback should stack with everything, though.
Piggyback doesn't stack with anything since you are Mounted, Meaning shylock and demigod and other things will not work.
Here simple. You are technically not "walking" when you are piggybacked. Pretend you are on a back of a horse.
The only thing that should stack with piggyback is March or Movement pots.

I summoned her in Rundal (she had 1 fomor glad equipped) Upon summon she said something similar to, "Get away Fomors" and then she cast a long spell. She now has a blue aura around her.
I equipped her with a mace, and then she would be stuck in an idle stance, and she will stay in that upright position. when being hit. when being knocked down. when playing dead. when mounting. etc
I wonder what is the odd that she'll get nerfed like with maids and butlers. She's suppose to come with a thunder skill if the JP content is correct.
The removal of the advanced magic isn't a nerf, as it doesn't even work in the other servers. Why would disposition change? It wasn't changed for maids and butlers. And the skill ranks, we don't know yet. Would be hard to tell because if I recall correctly, for some reason Maid and Butler's didn't match their xml on skill ranks.

Most likely nexon-assured Thunder nerf. That or it's incredibly stupidly high level for r5 thunder as the cap.
At least thunder is much more spammable once you give them a upgraded 'mp reduction' lightning wand.
I think the lack of lightning mastery makes it a bit lame... Because if they do have that and level up they'd get mp reductions and damage boosts.
Well, there was no way of knowing if that was from the data or not. (Since I doubt anyone lvled one that high already.) And weren't the Maid and Butler xml entries incorrect?
If you doubt that anyone has leveled it that high, you can clearly assume it's based on data. And because I made the chart, 2x the assumption level.
And maid/butler entries were not incorrect. It's because there are 2 types of maid/butlers, the nerfed and the unnerfed. But there is only 1 entry for commerce partner.
