Ancient Treasure Chest Event (Dec. 2010)

From Mabinogi World Wiki
December 15th, 2010 - December 28th, 2010

Description

Within the Shadow World, Fomor minions are dropping strange fragments that when puzzled together form a treasure chest. Gather up ten of these mystical fragments and bring them to Eavan in Dunbarton. Eavan will reward your enterprising collection with two different items: a Gift Box and the Ancient Treasure Chest itself! While the gift box can be opened by any normal means, such as taking off the lid, the Ancient Treasure Chest will require a key. Such keys can be found within the Mabinogi in-game cash shop.

If you don't wish to open the treasure chest, you can drop it on the ground. However, be wary, treasure chests are volatile and the chemicals used to piece them together will dissolve both the chest and the item within! The dissolution process will be just long enough to show you the item that was kept inside. [1]

  • Finishing a monster in a dungeon or shadow mission will randomly result in an Ancient Treasure Chest Fragment being dropped.
    • Fragments drop from all monsters in Shadow Missions and dungeons. Fragments will not drop from monsters in the field such as Bears or Raccoons.
    • There is a chance that a monster will drop two fragments.
    • Fragments will drop if you're playing as a pet.
      • However, you cannot pick up fragments while playing as the pet itself.
      • Once the monster's body disappears, you may pick it up even if you de-summoned your pet.
  • Ancient Treasure Chest Fragments can also be stored in pets.

Tips on Obtaining the Fragments

  • All level monsters drop fragments.
    • The higher a monster's CP class, the more often they drop fragments.
      • Weakest monsters hardly ever drop fragments.
      • It is possible to get around this by enabling pet auto-finish and using a somewhat weak pet to attack.
      • You may also summon a stone golem since they have low CP, provided that you have a decent rank for it to be effective.
      • You can also use -CP enchants to make monsters stronger.
        • This method may require a large number of potentially expensive enchants, depending on your CP.
        • See CP Modifiers for details
