Defeating these monsters will not cause them to disappear. Their nature dictates that they must carve a space for themselves in the world. The harder you try to push them back, the more they will push forward.

Divine Beasts are creatures from another world that appear in Erinn following the opening of Noitar Arat. They are beasts of considerable strength and resilience, and cannot be killed permanently.
Hymerark mentions that their coming was always predestined, as part of Findias's Fate, but wanted to give time for the inhabitants of Erinn to grow strong enough to defeat them. In doing so, they pulled strings with many of Erinn's decisive events, among those, prolonging Vayne's life after the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh to delay the opening to Noitar Arat, and turning back time each time Erinn's crises could not be averted. Instead, as the Milletian proved themselves to be strong enough to repeal Nuckelavee, Hymerark chose to allow Erinn back in its regular course, the Divine Beasts's entry unimpeded.

According to Millia, the Divine Beasts's coming is not caused by any sort of sentient will, but rather a reaction to a stimulus.
