Notes & Advice Notes It is immune to poison damage though not immune to poisoning. It does not dismount until the horse is killed. While mounted, the Dullahan will constantly use Axe Throwing. Axe Throwing will always do 1 damage more than the target's current HP in addition to its base damage. Axe Throwing counts as a type of Ranged Attack so its damage can be reduced with Natural Shield. Advice It will whisper to you when it is about throw its axe. Use this as a cue to use Evasion, it is the only way to dodge the attack. Playing Dead or invulnerability frames do not work. If a player has low current HP and activates Mana Shield, it will result in the Axe Throwing skill doing very little damage to the Mana Shield and no damage at all to the player. An easy way to achieve this is for the player to allow themselves to be hit once, enter Deadly, then drinking a potion (preferably an HP10 or 30) and finally activating Mana Shield. Another way to kill Dullahan (mounted or unmounted) safely is to have 3 or more people in the party use Windmill with right timing. If timed correctly, Dullahan will be stun-locked and can be killed without any deaths. The Hell Steed has high rank Instinctive Reaction and will often preemptively counter melee attacks even while being mounted. Using Ice Elements on equipment can drastically improve damage against it. The Grandmaster Mission version of Dullahan has significantly lower aggro range than its normal counterpart. A very viable strategy to fight it is to use Magnum Shot at maximum range, then to retreat until it stops whispering to you, signaling that it has dropped aggro and allowing you to attack again. He will rarely chase after you.
