- It looks nice. On another note i think a section like dungeon with a list of all the shadow missions would be nice, and a space in the monsters section for shadow monsters (if there isn't one already.) MarleTW 00:18, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

- Wow you've got alot done. Unfortunately i don't play KR so i cant be of much use there, and i don't play NA so making it NA-ish like you've done (Fomos to Fomor) would be hard for me :x i'll see what i can do though. MarleTW 00:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Ah, I don't know how talk pages work at all, or if this is even the right place to put it, but I'm gonna see if I can post what's on my mind. For weapons/items dropped from shadow missions, should we put that they drop from that shadow mission? I haven't seen that for any weapons, so I'm unsure. I'm just thinking it should, because, like, they do that for chest rewards from dungeons, like the weapon would say, Obtained from: Ciar Beginner, for example. So, example: if you get a wooden club from just Defeat Crag Cow Basic (in reality, you get them from all the difficulties), you'd put 'Defeat Crag Cow Basic' in the 'Obtained From' of Wooden Club... Since in reality you get them from all difficulties, you'd put 'Defeat Crag Cow'. These would link to Defeat Crag Cow page... Is this how it should be? Sorry to anyone if I've wasted your time reading this, and to myself if I'm making myself look stupid xD. ;-; Alien!

Could we set up a daily display somewhere? Such as on the main page or something of the sort. I don't think it'd be too hard for people to update it, a lot of people go to tara and taill.
They usually have that info on IRC, at the top. A basic page could be set up (you could do it). As for the mainpage, You'd have to talk to Kevin or one of the other admins. But the first step is making a page.
I think it would a great idea since I often ask around...then i get lazy and not do them at all once I figure out what it was...x.x...
I just think it'd be nice to have them on the wiki. It's not hard at all to figure out what they are, especially with the amount of people who visit the front page daily, and who would be willing to contribute. So, far I've made the mission list and the page, don't know where to go from here besides updating the actual missions.
I think a better thing to have done was just to add a new column to the existing Shadow Mission Lists and add the EXP/Gold values when they are selected as a daily mission. Seems pretty redundant to have another page, since everything else would be the exact same...
Linking to the redirect wasn't necessary, as that's the point of redirects...
Now, in addition to gathering the data, you should make a page Daily Shadow Mission and give it a two nice tables, one for Tara, one for Taill. The tables should have the basic information on them (Name, Date, rewards, ect) and this would be the actual page that users would edit, or that would get posted on the homepage. Try to make the tables as efficient/compact as possible, as this would minimize its eventual impact on the homepage :)
Please do not neglect to include the Date, otherwise people wouldn't know if the info is accurate.
I'll make a template in a bit.
Unless anyone objects, I plan to put this on the Wiki Homepage right inbetween the news and "Mabinogi World Wiki" sections.
I'm not sure why we need a verbose listing of daily missions, (AFAIK) they are exactly the same in every way but the reward EXP and Gold are doubled. That can be noted where appropriate with one line instead of making a whole page.
What would be useful is if someone figured out a pattern, like with moon gates, so we could predict when certain missions would be, integrate a schedule into the Erinn Timer, etc.
If you think it's better to double the amount of lines for each daily mission, then go ahead. I just thought it'd be easier to have each on a different page, so we wouldn't have to clutter it up.
Wait. What would you guys rather have?
- A large box, spanning the entire width of the page, with the specified rewards per mission level?
- or
- A small box, only spanning about the width of the Server Status box, with only the Daily missions listed? (Missions will be linked, a subtitle shall inform you that rewards are just double of the normal.)
I'll make both types just to show you guys.
I like how number one sounds, but ehh then again Number 2 sounds just as good o.o...it'll help to make a visual @@...
Here's my rendition on Kevin's second Example two (but with exp).
User:Pyrus/Daily Missions
We can also edit it into be a style/data type thing so each mission automatically fills in the exp for all difficulties, and all we need to change is the SMs.
I like Kevin's example 2. People mainly just want to know what the mission is -- the exact reward exp and gold is not that important.
I like looking at the XP simply cause so i know if it's worth running to the board or not to check.
Or rather clicking on a few links here. Might as well have most the info ready.
On the off chance it went unnoticed this was my suggestion.

Okay I like Domi's even more. I also second the idea of a hoverbox with the rewards put in it.
For example, that page suggests that today's VIP missions are Shadow Cast City and Defeat Fomor Commander I, but in-game, they are Their Method and Provocation. It looks like people will need to manually add the VIP missions every day.
Mabinogi Daily Missions Calendar
I mean, I'm pretty sure many of you know that there's a patter for Daily Missions.
I'm also assuming there's someone in Wiki that can have the template update daily by itself based on the pattern shown on the calendar.
Hello Ironwoman, thanks for bringing it up for discussion on the wiki. I was looking into this briefly yesterday and this morning. Both this site that you linked and Mabinoger hide the logic for computing their dailies in server-side code (unlike other timers we've had, which had them in JavaScript so everyone could see how to compute them). It's in theory possible for us to do something to use the Korean site's code, but it requires more than just JavaScript (a proxy server to retrieve the data, basically, because JavaScript security probably won't allow the browser to fetch it). It would also be somewhat rude to just leech the data without asking.
If you understand the pattern, I would like to hear more about it. I doubt it is a cycle of any reasonably short length. It's more likely some sort of RNG, but I don't think existing timer solutions have fit the data before. The fact that they bother to hide the actual algorithm is evidence of that.
Why exactly would you not be able to utilize their api? Common.js would allow you to retrieve external data, would it not?
You can't make cross-domain AJAX requests without CORS or script tag injection.
Edit: Oops, I didn't look closely enough. Their API does in fact support CORS. However, I'm not sure I want to send increased amounts of traffic to them like that. I would have to ask first. Has anyone ever spoken to them? Do they speak English?
User:Saiyr/AutoDailies is a work in progress (not as fully featured as the current template, but seems to work.
Edit: This is now on the front pages with links and hover boxes. Let me know if you see any bugs.
What's with the change?
Not sure if it's just me, but the missions will only say "Loading..." and not show up. I've tried several different computers and my phone.
As we know by now, the system that decides the difficulty of mainstream shadow missions has changed. On the official site, it says that it was based on "current exp", but this seems to be an incorrect description of it.
I suggest that it may now be based on either Total Talent EXP, or Highest Level Talent (or its respective exp amount). This is in response to a forum thread that I saw claiming that a level 91 (total) character received an Intermediate mainstream mission rather than a Basic one.
If a level 1000 player didn't have any Expert-Level talent or higher, why would they need an expert level talent to do the mainstream Hard mission?
It's fixed due to renewals. It should not be predetermined by talent levels, nor current or total level.
Difficulty shifts are as follows:
- Basic up until the Secret Experiment Clue II in G9, in which it becomes Int.
- Int until G13 Hamlet, which should be adv from there.
- Advanced into the end of G16. There is no Hardmode.
Wait, there is no 1 predetermined mission difficulty for every mainstream quest? There is no more scaling?
Everyone I asked has told me that you can replay a the basic shadow missions as many times as you want but after doing Defeat former commander 1 on hard 3 times its no longer on the list to pick again. Anyone have any idea why?
The VIP and today mission will always be on top. Otherwise, it will be lower in the list (in its usual spot).
If you're not seeing anymore, all I can suggest is to look harder. It should be there!
No its not "In its usual spot" or anywhere else in the list. It should be right above Defeat Fomor Commander 2 and right under Offering. I have looked over the list quite a few times and now i have noticed that battle for tail 1 is missing too. http://i46.tinypic.com/2mwgtty.jpg
Is there a way to cancel a non-mainstream already chosen shadow mission without entering the stonehenge?
Question: If I accept a Daily, then finish it with another party, then do my daily with it still logged in my quest, do I get Daily EXP for both SMs?
in the daily mission section it has this phrase:
However, Upon Failing, keeping the reward is only visual. Completing the mission again does not grant bonus experience, therefore it really only restricts the use of another crystal until completion of any shadow mission.
Can someone clarify/ reword this to make sense. (mostly the last part)
I was wondering if this article might benefit from having a chart of mob stat buffs by difficulty (if not already implemented elsewhere).
By possessing mobs in Ghost of the Partholon it is possible to see and compare the stats of the same monster in detail between difficulty modes.
I was wondering, if not already implemented somewhere, if it would help to include some kind of chart showing what buffs they get between difficulty levels.
From my own research these appear to be the stat gains from level to level. Damage multiplier is approximate as there is extremely small variations between monsters (maybe due to damage from base stats not increasing with damage multiplier.)
Basic Mode:
- 1x HP
- +0 Def
- +0% Prot
- +0% Crit
- +0% Balance
- 1x Exp
- 1.0x damage
- 1.0x injury
- 1x CP
Int. Mode:
- 2x HP
- +10 Def
- +5% Prot
- +5% Crit
- +0% Balance
- 2x Exp
- 1.6x damage
- 1.6x injury
- 2x CP
[For Possessed Gold Bone monsters everything went from 60%~ minimum injury to close to 100% at just inter with the same multiplier of damage. It is no longer possible to pinpoint injury increase after Inter. Injury increase however seems to match damage increase.]
Adv. Mode:
- 4x HP
- +30 Def
- +14% Prot
- +10% Crit
- +0% Balance
- 3.5x EXP
- 2.7x damage
- 2.7x injury(?)
- 3x CP
Hard mode:
- 8x HP
- +40 Def
- +19% Prot
- +15% Crit
- +0% Balance
- 7x EXP
- 4.18x damage
- 4.18x injury(?)
- 4x CP
Elite:
- 16x HP
- +60 Def
- +25% Prot
- +25% Crit
- +0% Balance
- 12x EXP
- 6.6x damage
- 6.6x injury(?)
- 6x CP
Across all modes there are no changes to a mob's base MP\SP\STR\INT\DEX\WILL\LUCK.
- As a result mobs will NOT gain magic defense as the difficulty increases. All mobs currently have approximately 0.5 Magic Defense regardless of difficulty.
These values are applied to Theater mission mobs as well.
I lack the wiki skills to make this into an actual table for the page so I'll just leave this here.
