Indeed, I am Manannan mac Lir. I am the master of the sea, the protector of seafarers.

—Manannan, G23 part 2
|
Description
Light glints off his silvery hair, bringing to mind glittering sea foam on the waves. His finely-tanned skin stands out against the blue cape draped over his body, and dark wings that display his divinity rise behind his muscular shoulders. You note a calm, inhuman languor in his gaze as he meets your eyes.
Manannan is one of the deities of Erinn. He governs the sea and seafarers, and like the sea, his temperament is that of a fickle god.

Past (Spoilers)
Manannan fell for Scathach back when she was a pirate captain. Notorious for her beauty, she made landfall upon his island. Despite his advances, she swore that she could never love anyone, mortal or god.
When Manannan found out she fell for Owen, in jealousy, he cursed her to her current form, remaining a human during the daytime but turning into a witch at night. He mentions to the milletian in G23 that she will not be free of her curse until she has paid the price.
Having entered a trade with Sera, in exchange for something he could not pass up on, he instigates a never-ending tempest on Erinn, creating storms and rising waters that threathen Belvast's inhabitants and cause floods. Confronted at Scuabtuinne's High Temple by both the Expeditionary force and the Order or the Black Moon, he tests the Milletian's combat abilities. If he can be bested, he will cancel out the tempests.
He later admits that he did not give it his all, and only pretended to fight as seeing Erinn destroyed was not something he fancied.
After the events of the generation, dissatisfied that his ship has received a lot of visitors, he decides to leave Scuabtuinne, in search for a better ship to home himself and the Far Darrigs.

A while ago, Manannan investigated the wherabouts of Pragarah following its dissatisfaction with Lugh, thinking it would come back to Mag Mell and went to retrieve it. However, when the Fairy queen Siora left the continent, she took with her the power that sustained the area; the inhabitants that were too weak could not follow her and were left behind. After some time, the area started to collapse, its power fading. Manannan heals the dying fairies, and tries to question a rose-wreathed spotted deer (Presumably Fionnait) about Pragarah, but could not gain any definitive answers as the weapon would not come back to 'a place that reeked of death and decay'.
He encounters Far Darrigs, severely affected by the fading power of Mag Mell, and notes how they had to cast away their reason to survive the lack of resources and the queen's abandonment. Unable to ignore the Darrigs's plight, as the Fairy King, Manannan takes responsability and gives Mag Mell enough power to sustain itself for a time, and takes the Far Darrigs with him on his ship.
Talvish later explains that Manannan and Siora are responsible for Pragarah and took turns safeguarding it, explaining his motivation to take it back.
