Basic Information

  • The talent system is a stat, title, and skill specialization system.
  • You may change talents upon character creation or rebirth.
    • Characters that were created before the Generation 17, Season 1 Update may choose their first talent upon logging in.
    • The talent you select will have an effect on:
      • Which skills receive double skill training and a training exp bonus
        • Some skills receive skill training benefits from multiple talents.
      • Base stat bonus – Stats gained upon selecting the talent
      • Leveling stat bonus – Stats gained upon leveling up
      • Aging stat bonus – Stats gained upon aging until the age of 20
  • Base, leveling, and aging stat bonuses stack with base character growth stats.
  • Talents themselves also provide a stat boost when ranked up. These stats are permanent regardless of which talent is selected.

Life-based Talents

For Gathering Bonus Experience, see Gathering.
  • All Life skill-based talents receive:
    • 2x Production Experience (Experience points gained when successfully producing or gathering an item)
    • Experience for Gathering
    • +50% Part-time Job Gold Reward
    • +20% Part-time Job Item Reward (e.g. Basic Church Part-time Job will provide 5 Holy Water of Lymilark as opposed to 4)
    • Information regarding the Smuggler's location and the Trade Good will scroll across the top of the screen for Commerce
      • When the Smuggler appears, the commerce post displays how much he is willing to pay for an item
    • Special Quest to obtain pieces of the Belmont Set
  • Ability to craft Talent-only items:
  • All items created through Blacksmithing, Carpentry, and Tailoring will receive a slight stat boost.
    • Shields will receive an additional 1 Defense.
    • Armor will receive an additional 1 Protection.
    • Clothing will receive an additional 1 Defense.
    • Helmets, gauntlets, and boots will receive an additional 1 Durability.
    • Weapons will receive an additional 1 Minimum Damage and 2 Maximum Damage.

Talent Levels

  • Talents start at level 1 and max out at level 16.
  • Talents level similarly to skills (where level 1 is rank F and level 15 is rank 1) but do not require AP and are based on the ranks of the skills that talent specializes in.
  • Each skill gives a different amount of talent experience based on the player's race and the skill's rank. The accumulation of a certain amount of experience in a talent causes the talent to rank.
    • Deranking skills will cause one to lose talent experience and level if the accumulated experience goes below the acquired amount.
    • Perfect training or mastering a skill does not provide additional talent experience.
  • Level 16 (Grandmaster) cannot be reached through talent experience. Instead, the player must reach level 15 (Master) and then take several tests from Lezzaro. For more information on Grandmaster status, see the section below.
    • Lowering talent level during or after the grandmaster tests will cause the player to lose their grandmaster standing until they re-level the talent.
  • Talent levels affect what difficulties can be selected for non-Generation Shadow Missions and Theatre Missions.
    • Basic: One level 1 (Fledgling) talent
    • Intermediate: One level 5 (Naive) talent
    • Advanced: One level 7 (Senior) talent
    • Hard: One level 11 (Expert) talent
    • Elite: One level 1 (Fledgling) talent, requires an elite pass from the party leader
    • Lord: One level 15 (Master) talent, requires a Lord Pass from each party member
  • A level 11 (Expert) talent is required to enter Abyss Dungeons.
  • A level 15 (Master) talent is required to wield its affiliated Demonic Weapon (e.g. - Demonic Hellfire Cylinder requires Level 15 Battle Alchemy Talent).
  • Level 15 active Tailoring, Smithing, and Carpentry talents are required to make Demonic Scales, Demonic Ingots, and Demonic Wood Boards, respectively.
  • There are journal entries for reaching level 2 (Novice), level 5 (Naive), level 8 (Advanced), and level 11 (Expert) for each talent, which reward AP.
    • In order of the above levels, 30, 40, 60, and 100 AP is rewarded.

Grandmaster Status

Banner for the Grandmaster Update.
  • Holding Grandmaster status allows you to equip the respective talent title along with the prefix "Grandmaster."
    • You will not lose the status upon switching to a different active talent.
  • Grandmaster talents provide a higher bonus than that of a level 15 talent, and in addition provides unique effects.
    • A player may only hold one Grandmaster talent's unique effects at a time. Ability Points may be spent to change which talent's unique effects are active.
  • Upon reaching Master (Level 15) in a talent, you will receive the quest, The Grandmaster's Path.
  • To become a Grandmaster, speak to Lezarro and take on his challenges.
    • Your active talent must be level 15 in order to accept his tasks.
      • You may attempt them again if you have already completed one challenge of the respective talent, regardless of your active talent.
        • Similarly, you can have any active talent when becoming a Grandmaster.
    • You can only attempt three missions per day. This counter reset at 7:00am PDT100 everyday.
      • Additional missions can be received for 300,000 Gold each.
      • Missions given out may be different everyday.
    • Each completed mission provides a seal of the respective talent (2x2). You need at least 20 of these to become Grandmaster.
      • This would take a minimum of 7 days to complete, provided all missions are completed each day and no additional missions are purchased.
    • You also need a Gold Grandmaster Certificate, which Lezarro sells for 1,000,000 G.
  • When one becomes a Grandmaster, a message is broadcast over the server of that person's accomplishment.
  • Resetting skills that bring the talent status out of Grandmaster will remove it's effects, however re-ranking the skills will restore the Grandmaster status and its corresponding effect.

The Grandmaster's Path
How to Get Quest

Briefing Once you've mastered a Talent, visit Duke Lezarro in Tara so he can recognize your achievement.
Objectives
Rewards
  • 20,000 Experience Points
Additional Information
  • You will receive a Waxen Wing of the Blue Goddess to Tara's Stonehenge upon receiving the quest.
  • You must be in the active talent with Master level to receive this quest.

Grandmaster Missions

For the list of Grandmaster Missions, see Talent/Grandmaster Challenges.
  • Grandmaster Missions, sometimes referred as Grandmaster Challenges, are special quests players may be accepted once a talent has reached Master level.
    • In order to receive any Grandmaster Mission, talk to Lezzaro and select the "Grandmaster" option.
  • Grandmaster Missions are separated into three different categories.
    • You may only accept 1 mission per category.
    • The objective(s) will vary from talent to talent.
    • The task given from the category is random.
    • You may accept all three missions simultaneously. You also may complete them in any order.
    • In order to initiate Grandmaster missions for a given talent, your character's active talent must be the same as the one you are trying to level to Grandmaster.
      • For example, a player may only begin working toward Grandmaster Mage if their current active talent is Magic. On the other hand, if the player's active talent is Druid, then the player may accept either Magic, Cleric, or Apothecary, provided all of the listed talents are Master level.
      • It should be noted that once you have started working toward Grandmaster status for an active talent, you do not need to remain that active talent to receive future Grandmaster missions.
        • Suppose Mage is your active talent, and you initiate and complete a Grandmaster quest for Mage. If you rebirth into an Apothecary, you will still be able to receive Grandmaster missions for the Mage talent.
  • Grandmaster Missions reset at 7:00am PST100.
    • If you have a quest from a previous day, you may complete it and receive another one on the same day.
  • All Grandmaster Missions reward 20,000 EXP and a Great Seal towards that talent.
  • You can only become a Grandmaster once every real life day resets at 7:00am PST100

Hero Talents

The Hero Talent Selection Screen
  • A hero talent is a special talent that covers multiple talents in terms of skill training.
  • Each hero talent was inspired by an associated Ace.
  • You must pay 39 Pons during rebirth in order to use or keep a hero talent.
  • By selecting a hero talent, one can receive double skill training for multiple types of Milletian Talents specified by the talent. For example, the Druid talent provides double training to skills associated with the Magic, Holy Arts or Medicine talents.
  • The hero talent will register as a hybrid talent title if all the associated Milletian Talents are at Master level.
    • This title uses the hero talent's associated icon rather than the default hybrid icon.
    • It is not necessary to be of that hero talent in order to receive the title.
  • Selecting a hero talent also grants some associated skills at Novice Rank, if they are not already in possession.
  • Hero talents are considered hidden talent titles, and therefore, do not have Talent Stat Bonuses. However, each hero talent has their own associated base, level, and age bonus that is received while currently under that talent.
  • "Awarded Skills" in the first tab is the skills a character learns by rebirthing into that talent.
  • "Skills Provided" in the second tab is the list of skills a new character starts with when using a Hero Card or Elite Hero Card.

Trivia

  • The implementation of the Talent system replaced the Destiny system entirely, although some traits of the Destiny system still lie in the Talent system.
  • Some NPCs and monsters, such as those in the Grandmaster Mission, possess talent titles that are currently unavailable to players.
