When you have a needle and thread, you love decorating your clothes. Cutting and trimming fabric to make clothes can be a good job, but it is a brilliant way of expressing your uniqueness, charm, and creativity. Words cannot express the sense of accomplishment when you have gathered the necessary materials and produced the desired piece of clothing. First, you need a Tailoring Kit and tailoring materials such as Cloth and Finishing Thread. Refer to a Sewing Pattern to make the clothing you want. The necessary materials will vary depending on the Sewing Pattern to be used. Finishing Thread is used for the final needlework.

Details

  • Allows the player to create Cloth-based Clothing, Light Armor, Gloves, Footwear, Headgear. Please see the Tailored Items List for a list of items that can be created by Tailoring.
  • Requires a Tailoring Kit and Sewing Pattern equipped in order to be used.
  • It is possible to create items that are better quality than those sold by NPCs.
    • The item's Durability, Defense, Protection, and set bonus stats may increase depending on how well the player finishes the minigame.
  • Items produced will be of a random color.
  • When an unfinished item is dropped on the ground, it cannot be picked up by other players; only the creator may pick it back up. If left there, it will disappear after a certain amount of time. Unfinished items can be traded between players.
  • Many materials required for Tailoring can be produced by the Weaving skill.

Mini Game

Tailoring Minigame
  • When creating an item by Tailoring, the player must first "complete" the item to 99.9% by repeatedly using the skill and supplying materials for that item. Successes will increase the completion meter, and likewise failures may decrease the completion meter. After reaching 99.9%, the player is then prompted to "finish" the item by using specific finishing materials. This last step requires a player to complete a minigame.
  • To play this minigame, Place the tip of the cursor (the "needle") on the 'x' on the left side and click and drag it to the small 'o' on the right side. Repeat these steps until all 6 marks have been "sewn" and either wait for the timer to complete or click to finish.
    • The player has ? seconds to complete the minigame, indicated by a blue bar that depletes on the bottom of the interface.
  • Finishing quality is dependent on how close to the center of the 'x' and 'o' the thread is sewn into.
    • At higher ranks, the finishing cursor becomes smaller, making it easier to get a better result.
    • It should be noted that the player may attempt to sew into the X's as many times as desired to achieve a more accurate finish until it is carried over to the following O's. Simply re-click onto the 'x' until desired threading is found and drag over to the following 'o'. However, keep in mind of the timer.

Tailored Equipment Grades

  • Grade X is only attainable through items given with pre-configured bonus stats.
  • Tailoring grades A+ to S+ are only attainable through uses of reforges.
    • Grade S+ is possible through the use of reforges, but a minimum of level 15 tailoring quality reforge is required in addition to the Monday bonus.
  • For signature on a tailored item, the following conditions must be met:
    • Tailoring skill rank 9 and above
    • Tailoring grade B+ and above
  • There are also rank bonus for Tailoring rank 4 and above:
    • Rank 4: Hats dura+1
    • Rank 3: Hats, Gloves, Shoes dura+1
    • Rank 2: Hats, Gloves, Shoes, Robes dura+1
    • Rank 1: All items dura+1
  • Blacksmith talent provides one additional Protection to tailored Light Armor.
  • Tailor talent provides one additional Defense to tailored Clothes.
  • Merchant destiny provides two additional protection to Light Armors and one additional defense to clothing.

Training Method

  • To "Achieve a very good result", the pattern must be at least 2 ranks higher than the player's skill rank.
    • Successes with patterns 2 ranks or lower below the player's skill rank will result in the job being "too easy", and will count as a "The result is a failure" rather than a "Use the skill successfully".
      • Dan ranks will receive training as if the skill was rank 1.
      • The completed item will still count as "Clothes are finished".
    • Regular failures and big failures will count normally.
