Mainstream Story
Avelin is initially encountered by the Milletian in Sidhe Sneachta, where she is conversing with Altam, her unit member. Avelin cautions Altam about the punishment he could face due to his involvement with the Milletian. Upon discovering that the Milletian has already taken up Altam's offer to assist their organization, however, Avelin expresses disapproval towards the situation. Avelin then introduces herself to the Milletian as Altam's commanding officer. She further apologizes, informing the Milletian that the task she and Altam are dealing meant to be dealt with by the two of them only. When asked about the monsters the knights are facing, Avelin tells the Milletian that there are none, but suggests for the townsfolk to lock their doors. Shortly afterwards, Avelin and Altam leave to privately discuss something.
Eventually, Avelin and Altam return to Sidhe Sneachta to assist the Milletian in defeating Girgashiy. Once it is defeated, Pennar briefly appears and attacks the Milletian, prompting the knights to rush to the Milletian's side. When asked about Girgashiy, Avelin reveals to the Milletian that the monster was once human, however its form was twisted due to energy from another world. She further points out that all its humans traces were burned out, resulting in it becoming a puppet. When the Milletian asks her about Pennar, Avelin informs them that he is responsible for creating creatures such as Girgashiy; he worships a foul god; and he works in a group that the knights believe is being controlled. Finally, when asked about the organization she works for, Avelin tells the Milletian that the organization is working to keep the world safe. Avelin then advises the Milletian not to tell anyone about what they witnessed or discussed, otherwise she will be forced to act against them. Before she and Altam leave, Avelin additionally warns the Milletian to not show mercy to creatures like Girgashiy.
Later, in Gairech Hill outside of Bangor, Avelin cautions the Milletian to stop seeking out the Alban Knights, as their organization operates in secret. To emphasize this, she informs the Milletian that her superiors accused Altam of betrayal for seeking their help. Avelin then mentions that the knights' mission will soon require them to operate openly, however until then, harsh punishment is issued to those who disobey the rules. As such, she asks the Milletian to respect the knights' desire to remain incognito until she and Altam are allowed to reveal themselves to the outside world.
Immediately afterwards, Avelin and the Milletian hear a sudden fit of laughter belonging to Brilluen. Once Brilluen reveals herself, she summons Girgashiy. Avelin and the Milletian are then left to fight against it. During the battle, Avelin tells the Milletian that it is necessary to break the enemy's defenses, just as Altam had. However, since Altam is not present, Avelin says that they both must escape instead. Talvish then arrives, having heard Avelin's instructions to the Milletian. Avelin urges Talvish to help them slay the Apostle before Brilluen escapes. Avelin, Talvish, and the Milletian then defeat Girgashiy.
Following the battle, Avelin asks Talvish why he is present, and if there is any news about Altam. Talvish then informs her that their superiors are carefully considering their case, further advising Avelin to trust their judgment. Avelin is subsequently taken by surprise when Talvish asks the Milletian to join the Alban Knights.
Later, Avelin, Talvish and the Milletian reconnect at the Emain Macha Assembly Area. When the Milletian attempts to speak to Avelin, she despairs over the notion that she left Altam to wander off on his own. She further claims that he was under her protection, yet she failed him.
When Avelin arrives with Talvish in Abb Neagh to meet the Milletian, Avelin asks the Milletian for new intel. Upon learning that Pennar fled, Avelin concludes that he is planning something, as it is unlike Pennar to flee from battle. Avelin and Talvish then propose their opposing views on how to handle the situation. When Avelin suggests moving the Bard Camp residents to a safer location instead, Talvish argues that these actions would waste time, plus Pennar could potentially attack the location the residents are moved to. The two knights then ultimately decide to go with Talvish's plan.
As Talvish, Avelin, and the Milletian search for Pennar, they discover more mutated creatures to defeat. Avelin soon dismisses Talvish's proposed idea of leaving in an attempt to draw Pennar out. The group then conducts more searching, defeating more mutated creatures along the way. Eventually, Talvish and Avelin ponder whether Pennar planned an escape route rather than a trap. However, they find Pennar nearby.
Once Pennar unleashes Girgashiy, the knights and the Milletian engage in battle with it. After Girgashiy's defeat, Avelin and Talvish request the Milletian to chase down Pennar as he heads west.
When the Milletian returns to Talvish and Avelin, Avelin apologizes for not having been with them when the Prophets contaminated them. Once the subject is changed to Altam's probation, Talvish suggests for he and Avelin to return with Altam. Avelin then instructs Talvish to ensure that the inhabitants of the Bard Camp are safe and to inform command about the Milletian's condition afterwards. In addition to this, she instructs the Milletian to head to the Healer's House and rest at the inn to heal, as their group of three will be no good while the Milletian is injured. Moreover, she states that she has experienced what it is like to work with a group with an injured member and will not have it happen again. Finally, Avelin dismisses Talvish and the Milletian, then takes her leave.
Sometime afterwards, Avelin and Altam arrive in Tara while the Milletian is attempting to protect the Tara Watchmen from mutated bears. Avelin questions why the Milletian is not resting as she previously instructed. Furthermore, she points out that the Milletian cannot be useful since they lost their powers. Altam informs Avelin that the watchmen can hear her, causing her to apologize to the Milletian. Altam, Avelin, and the Milletian then move to a quieter spot. There, Avelin apologizes to the Milletian again, saying that she initially assumed they were a "glory-monger" enjoying their eternal life due to how often Altam praised them. However, she was glad to learn this was not true. Avelin then informs the Milletian that they were given permission to enter the Cave of Remorse in Corrib Valley. The group then decides to reconvene there.
After the Milletian exits the cave, Avelin reveals that she tracked the enemy to Taillteann. She then tells the Milletian that they will meet outside of the city walls of northwestern Taillteann.
Upon arriving at the location, Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian hunt a complete version of Girgashiy. During the battle, Avelin is knocked down by a strike from Girgashiy. However, she recovers thanks to the Milletian's Shield of Trust. She then affirms that the Milletian is truly an Alban Knight, further signaling the group to destroy the Apostle together.
After Girgashiy's defeat, Avelin points out that the enemy was more powerful than she expected. She then instructs Altam and the Milletian to rest, as they will have to directly face the Prophets from here on.
Later, Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian meet at Morva Aisle. Avelin informs the Milletian that the knights had been tracking the Prophets at center of Uladh, however the Prophets were actually hiding in the south. She then tells the Milletian that their group will form the vanguard while other squads circle around the Prophets.
Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian then move further into Port Ceann, where they encounter another Girgashiy. Upon the Apostle's defeat, the Prophets appear, leading to another battle. After the fight, the knights learn that the Prophets intend to head to Rath Royal Castle to target Eirawen. The knights then leave Eirawen's safety to the Milletian once all of the knights' powers are transferred to them.
Once Eirawen is saved, Altam, Avelin, and Talvish meet the Milletian in the Emain Macha Assembly Area. Avelin informs the Milletian that the situation is calm for the time being. Moreover, she reveals that the Arthuan Unit is expecting a new recruit, but she has heard rumors suggesting they may be worse than Altam. Avelin affirms that the Milletian was helpful to the knights' cause, then tells them to stay safe until they meet again.
Shortly afterwards, Avelin, although initially unwilling, recites the motto of the Alban Knights' Organization together with Altam and Talvish.
Suspecting the Prophets to be around, Avelin appears at the Graveyard in Taillteann with Altam following the Milletian's discovery of a corpse with a glowing, golden aura. Upon confronting the Prophets, however, Brilluen, Pennar, and Marcan take their leave. Avelin then reminds Altam of their mission after small talk with the Milletian. Knowing that the Prophets seek an abundant supply of corpses, Avelin deduces that it would be best to search the other graveyards in Uladh, starting with Tir Chonaill's first.
Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian head to the graveyard in Tir Chonaill, searching for the Prophets. However, after Avelin explains that their search was unsuccessful, she suggests staying in the town until nightfall in case something turns up. She asks the Milletian to keep on the lookout, then senses something coming from the graveyard. When the group discovers Reanimated Corpses, Avelin explains that the Prophets may have used their Unholy Light to revive them. Avelin then informs the group that it is necessary to eliminate the corpses since they have already become tools for the Prophets.
Soon, Avelin, Altam, and Milletian find themselves completely surrounded by the Reanimated Corpses. Avelin suggests that the Prophets had to know they would go to Tir Chonaill's graveyard, then considers the possibility of the trap being of Brilluen's work. The group is once again left with no choice but to defeat the corpses. After the fight, Avelin claims that she collected minerals from the corpses, further suggesting that clues may be found through studying them. Avelin then tells Altam and the Milletian that she intends to submit of report of the incident in the graveyard. She directs the others to rest and remain in Tir Chonaill while she is away.
Sometime later, Avelin returns, informing Altam and the Milletian that another case of the golden aura appeared near the Qilla Base Camp. She suggests to leave Tir Chonaill once the others are ready. When the group arrives at Qilla Base Camp, Avelin points out that she can sense the Prophets' traces. Questioning how it is that the Prophets are always ahead, Avelin also orders the Milletian to remain on guard with Altam while she investigates the area. Unfortunately for the group, Reanimated Corpses appear, leaving Avelin to deduce that it must be the work of Brilluen. Altam then questions the possibility of the Prophets killing people to turn them into the corpses due to the lack of graveyards in the area. Avelin considers this idea, ultimately dismissing the Prophets as "nothing but unruly Fomors." She then points out that the corpses outside of the Qilla Base Camp are different from the ones in Uladh, warning Altam and the Milletian to be careful when defeating them.
Following the defeat of the Reanimated Corpses, Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian decide to take a small break. Avelin eventually decides that the group must continue investigating, asking Altam and the Milletian to take turns standing watch. However, the group grows alert, with Avelin commanding the others to step aside. An Apostle-like creature suddenly appears, initially confusing Avelin. She then tells the Milletian to prepare the defenses, while Altam must prepare the binding. After the two perform the desired actions, Avelin uses Judgment Blade on the creature. Much to her dismay, the group's efforts are in vain. As a last resort, she informs Altam and the Milletian that they must lure the Apostle west and away from the camp. The group splits to take different directions. However, they discover that an impenetrable barrier is in place, preventing them from moving further.
Soon, the group discovers a weak point in the barrier existing behind the Apostle. Avelin then tells the Milletian to escape with Altam while she distracts the Apostle. Altam expresses concern for Avelin, which Avelin gives him credit for, however she also orders him once more to leave. Furthermore, Avelin tells the Milletian to keep Altam out of trouble.
After Talvish shows up and chases away Marcan, who had been controlling the Apostle-like creature, Talvish explains that the Apostles can be stopped by attacking the Prophets if the Prophets are nearby. Avelin, on the other hand, points out that the attacks and Crusader Skills used by Altam, the Milletian, and herself had no effect on the Apostle. Talvish then ties together the events that occurred up to that point before suggesting to track down the Apostle. In response, Avelin asserts that the Arthuan Unit does not require the help of the Elved Unit. However, Talvish informs her that their mission will not be easy, even with the Milletian's assistance. After the two go back and forth regarding the Milletian's role in assisting the Alban Knights, Talvish ultimately informs the group that he intends to consult the Commander to ensure the Arthuan Unit has authorization to carry out the mission. Moreover, he tells the others that he will be free to accompany them on the mission.
Eventually, the Milletian uses the necklace to view a memory of the Elder and his knights protecting the Avalon Gate from Heretics. The Milletian then shares this information with Avelin and Talvish. When Avelin asks to lend the necklace from the Milletian, the Milletian refuses, prompting Avelin to explain that memories pertaining to the past Alban Knights are vital to their group. Talvish defends the Milletian's choice, then politely asks them if the necklace can be used by the knights. Once the necklace is tried by Avelin and Talvish, however, nothing happens. Talvish then concludes that he must consult the Commander about the necklace.
Afterwards, Talvish suggests for the group to head to the ruins of the Alban Knights. Avelin protests, stating that they must find the Prophets. However, Talvish informs her that Brilluen and Pennar are already heading to Belvast. He then reminds the group that he must consult the Commander and leaves Once Avelin shares her thoughts about Talvish to Altam and the Milletian, she tells them to finish up their work at the Qilla Base Camp and then head for Belvast.
After Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian arrive in Belvast, the Milletian asks Avelin about the path leading to the Avalon Gate. Avelin explains to them that most passersby do not notice the existence of the path between the cliffs because the Divine Light flowing through tricks them into believing nothing is there. Avelin further explains that if someone were to venture down the path, they would only wind up back at the entrance. She claims that the same would apply to the Prophets as well.
When the group enters the area, Altam questions the possibility of the Prophets being in the ruins as well. This prompts the Milletian to explain their memory of the Elder and the previous Alban Knights fighting off the Heretics within the area. Avelin suggests that they cannot make assumptions just yet. However, she suddenly begins to sense traces of Unholy Light, throwing her into disarray. The group is then left with no choice but to defeat the Crystal Boars, Crystal Wolves, and Crystal Bears that are present.
As they move further in, Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian notice Brilluen and Pennar. As Avelin asks Brilluen how the Prophets were able to enter the ruins, Brilluen only taunts her. The group then engages the Prophets in battle.
After the fight, the Prophets escape, adding to Avelin and Altam's confusion. Avelin then suggests to keep moving. Upon moving closer to the Avalon Gate, Avelin examines the surroundings, questioning what the Prophets were doing and how they were able to enter the area. Altam then expresses that the Apostle from before, the Elder's necklace, and the fact that the Prophets made it to the Avalon Gate is too much to handle. Avelin tells him that they will talk about it when Talvish arrives.
Once Talvish arrives at the Alban Knights' ruins, Altam fills him in on the details. Talvish suggests the possibility of the Prophets invading the area prior to the knights encountering them. He then tells them that he will report the new information to the Commander. Moreover, he tells the others that the Commander considered the situation serious enough that all of the generals should join the Arthuan Unit in its mission. After a bit of consideration towards the idea, Talvish then tells everyone to head to the Emain Macha Assembly Area, where Caswyn and Pihne are soon expected to arrive. When Avelin suggests stationing knights to protect the people, Talvish responds to her by saying that the knights of Baltane are needed to watch over Avalon Gate.
After the Milletian convinces Talvish to allow Altam to tag along on the dangerous mission, much to Avelin's chagrin, the group heads to the Emain Macha Assembly Area. There, the knights and the Milletian wait for Pihne, who eventually shows up. Avelin and Pihne initially engage in conversation, discussing the recent events that occurred. Suddenly, an ambush of Reanimated Corpses appears and attempts to strike Altam, however Pihne uses Lightning Rod before any damage is done. The knights and the Milletian then find themselves surrounded by more corpses, leaving the group no choice but to fend them off.
After the Reanimated Corpses are cleared, the knights notice that Caswyn, the leader of the Heruin unit, still has yet to arrive. Pihne suggests waiting for him, but the knights realize that he is more than late. It is then by Pihne suggested that the knights and the Milletian head to the a will to the west of Taillteann to find him.
The group heads to the hill west of Taillteann, but find that Caswyn is still not present. Avelin questions whether they truly need Caswyn for the mission, only to be told by Talvish that their team must function as a whole. The group then splits up to find him, with Altam and Avelin heading east.
Once Caswyn is found by the Milletian, Avelin questions and criticizes him, however her words do not reach him, prompting Pihne to take over. Talvish then carries over the conversation to address the pressing matter at hand: tracking and defeating the Prophets. Avelin then decides that Altam can come along after she is convinced by the others' responses. The group is then given the name "Celestial Six" by Altam before heading to Cor Village.
In Cor Village, Pihne is able to gather intel and deduce that the Apostles will likely return by nightfall. Talvish suggests they all remain in the area until then. Afterwards, Caswyn points out that something is strange without specifying what, causing Avelin to question why he is pessimistic all the time. Pihne reassures Avelin that Caswyn is reliable despite his cold nature. The Celestial Six then wait until midnight for the possible attack.
At midnight, Altam and Talvish split from the group to search for any Prophets in the area. Pihne, Avelin, Caswyn, and the Milletian are left to engage Zebach, however their attacks are not effective against it. Caswyn points out that the damage from their attacks is being negated by the Apostle, however the knights' Divine Light is not affected. He further suggests that they all combine their Divine Light with their attacks in order to make progress. Even so, Caswyn decides to handle the Apostle himself. Upon the Apostle's defeat, Altam and Talvish return and the group takes a break.
Once the Milletian discovers the location where the Arthuan Shard is sealed through the use of the Elder's necklace, the Celestial Six head to Lunae Valley. There, Pihne points out that the altar is not present, prompting Caswyn to suggest for Avelin to use up all of her Divine Light. Concern is expressed for Avelin by some of the knights. However, Avelin agrees and carries out the task, causing the altar to reveal itself. The Prophets also show up with the intent of stealing the Arthuan Shard. A brief fight occurs between the knights and the Reanimated corpses with Zebach before the Prophets escape.
Pihne searches the altar but is unable to find the Arthuan Shard, leaving her to guess that it has fallen into the Prophets' hands. The Celestial Six then discuss the strong probability of the Prophets intent to pass beyond the Avalon Gate and find the Elder's body. With this information, they decide on a plan to reclaim the Arthuan Shard from the Prophets and find the remaining three shards. The group subsequently splits to allow the Milletian, Avelin, and Caswyn to rest at the Hot Springs, while Pihne, Altam, and Talvish hunt for the Prophets.
The knights move out to seek the Heruin Shard at Port Ceann next. When they move deeper into the beach, the knights find that Caswyn is not there. Avelin criticizes Caswyn, but Talvish suggests to secure the perimeter of the area while they await his return. Pihne, on the other hand, reassures Avelin by telling her that she believes that Caswyn is not too far from the area. Caswyn eventually appears along with the altar. He secures the Heruin Shard and indicates that he modified the altar's security device into a trap, which successfully catches Brilluen and Pennar.
Unfortunately for the knights, Marcan appears with a more powerful version of Zebach. The Celestial Six and the Milletian are left to defeat it while the Prophets escape. At the conclusion of the battle, Pihne suggests that the new Apostles brought by the Prophets could be a sign of the Prophets' desperation to obtain the shards. Avelin then berates Caswyn for his actions, leading Pihne to have a private talk with Avelin.
Soon, Altam questions the possibility of a traitor existing amongst the group. Avelin tells him not to spout nonsense, while Pihne reassures him by stating that none of them would dare to work alongside the Prophets. Contrarily, Caswyn suggests to investigate Altam's theory anyway. This causes Talvish to urge the Celestial Six to think rationally. He states that pursuing the Prophets is necessary if the knights want answers, but he also considers the possibility as well, much to Avelin's dismay. Talvish then asks the Milletian for their thoughts. When the Milletian states that they are the traitor, the knights are thrown into disarray. However, Talvish indicates that this cannot be so; the Alban Knights would have known since there is constant surveillance on the Milletian.
The Celestial Six then have a moment of rest. When Talvish asks the Milletian to cook for the knights, Avelin is strongly against the idea, stating that the Alban Knights follow a strict diet. The others do not share her sentiment, however. The knights then split into teams of two to gather ingredients. Avelin and the Milletian work to gather red, blue, and white crabs along the beach. Once all the ingredients are gathered, the group enjoy a meal cooked by the Milletian.
Sometime later, Altam suggests hiding the Heruin Shard in a place safe from the Prophets. However, they discover that the Prophets were already in the area, watching the group from the cliff. The Prophets disappear when the knights raise their guard. The knights question this, but soon find themselves caught in a trap set by the Prophets. The Black Wizard then appears with the Heruin Shard in his possession, taunting the group before he leaves.
The Celestial Six head for Blago Prairie to locate the Eiler Shard that was seen there in the memory. Upon arriving at the location, Pihne eventually reveals the altar using her Divine Light, only to become exhausted afterwards. She suggests that she might need to rest, prompting Avelin to question her well-being. On the other hand, the knights notice that the chest where the Eiler Shard would be has already been tampered with. Much to the knights' surprise, the same Apostle from before appears. The group realizes that it has no choice but to fight it.
After the fight, Talvish revisits the idea of a traitor existing amongst them, further stating that the Prophets may have the Elved Shard already. However, Pihne and Caswyn suddenly disappear, causing Talvish to ask the Milletian to search for them while he, Avelin, and Altam look for the Prophets in Belvast.
Eventually, when the Milletian returns to Belvast, Avelin reveals to them that something urgent came up. She tells the Milletian to come with her to Lunae Valley where the Arthuan Altar was. Once they head there, 'Avelin' reveals that she was actually Brilluen disguised as Avelin all along. Brilluen then tells the Milletian that she intends to get rid of them for good, sending Pennar after them as she leaves.
Sometime after the Milletian returns with Pihne and Caswyn, the Celestial Six arrive at the Avalon Gate grounds and find Reanimated Corpses within the area. The group soon finds all of the Prophets gathered outside of the gate as well. The Celestial Six then prepare for another battle against Zebach, this time in its final form. Unfortunately for the knights, Zebach overwhelms each of them, including Avelin.
After Zebach is defeated by the Milletian, the Prophets manage to pass through the Avalon Gate using all the collected Alban Knights' Shards. The other knights besides Talvish soon wake up, allowing him to relay this information to them. He also points out that his efforts of combining the knights' Divine Light when the Prophets used the Sacred Mark caused the Prophets to become trapped beyond the gate. It is then decided that although the Celestial Six completed its mission, a new strategy must be devised.
Talvish then asks the others' well-being and if they wish to rest, prompting the knights to do so. When Caswyn thanks the Milletian for their help, Pihne asks Avelin if her opinion of Caswyn has changed. Avelin initially denies the idea, but then tells Pihne to just dismiss her opinion.
Soon, it is decided by Talvish that the Celestial Six must disband. Avelin states that she and Altam will keep an eye on the Avalon Gate and the Prophets. Pihne suggests Altam to stand guard from time to time, prompting Avelin to disagree, even though she feels he has grown more trustworthy. Then, when Caswyn tells Avelin to take care of herself, Avelin wishes the same to him.
Avelin and Altam arrive at the Emain Macha Assembly Area to meet with Llywelyn. Upon discovering that Llywelyn had given the Elder of the Alban Knights' sword hilt to the Milletian, Avelin scolds him, reminding him that it was necessary for them to assess the risks associated with the item. She then informs the Milletian that Llywelyn is the newest member of the Arthuan Unit, as it had previously been one member short.
Following Llywelyn's introduction, Avelin reveals that the knights were keeping the Elder's sword hilt safe. However, it suddenly began to come to life. This opened up the option of bringing the item's attention to the Milletian, since they were previously able to communicate with the Elder through the use of the his necklace. Once Llywelyn confirms that the Milletian was able to communicate with someone via the sword hilt, Avelin tells her unit members that the matter must be discussed with the other captains within their organization. She then retrieves the hilt and informs Altam and Llywelyn that they must head back to Avalon Gate. Before they depart, Avelin tells the Milletian she will contact them once the situation is cleared.
At Avalon Gate, Avelin explains to the Milletian that the knights confirmed it was the Elder who the Milletian was previously communicating with. She then informs them about Llywelyn's theory, which suggests that the Elder wanted to reach out to them using the sword hilt as the medium of communication. Why the Elder chose the Milletian and what message he wishes to convey, however, was the mystery that remained for the knights. Avelin additionally considers the effect communicating with the Elder may have for the past, present, and future. Finally, she tells the Milletian that she hopes her concerns are unfounded, then directs them to Talvish.
Shortly afterwards, Avelin detects movement from the Prophets beyond the Avalon Gate. All the captains gather near the gate, pondering on how to open it without the Sacred Mark. Once the Milletian reveals an alternate method relayed to them by the Elder, the captains utilize Smiting to open Avalon Gate. It is then decided that Avelin, Talvish, and the Milletian will pass through the gate to track down the Prophets.
Upon entering Avalon, Avelin points out that the Prophets energy trace feels fainter than it had previously. Even, so she believes they are not far off. She then suggests for Talvish, the Milletian, and herself to split up.
Once the three regroup, the Milletian imparts new knowledge they gained, causing Avelin to comment on how it is strange that they were able to witness a memory of the Prophets passing through the area from touching a mineral. Avelin additionally realizes she can sense the energy of the Prophets coming from the direction the Milletian saw them head towards in the memory. Thus, she suggests for the group to follow the trail.
Next, Avelin, Talvish, and the Milletian enter the Knights' Epitaph, where they discover Marcan entrapped in a mineral. Avelin questions the discovery, indicating that she did not expect to see the Prophet in this state. However, once Talvish directs her to focus on the mineral, she senses Divine Light emanating from it. As Avelin begins to ponder on whether the mineral formed naturally, the group suddenly finds itself approached by Hasidim.
As Hasidim confronts the knights and the Milletian, Avelin recognizes them as an enemy, but questions what they are. She suggests for the group to retreat if possible. However, with Hasidim having begun its assault, Avelin, Talvish, and the Milletian are left with no choice to engage them until the group can find a means to retreat.
Soon, Caswyn, Altam, and Llywelyn arrive as reinforcements. Avelin urges Altam and Llywelyn to be extra cautious as the knights' normal attacks have no effect on Hasidim. The group, now with more members, then returns to battle. In their continued fight with the enemy, Avelin deduces that Hasidim is an Apostle, although it is unaffected by Divine skills.
Upon Hasidim's defeat, Avelin commends Altam and Llywelyn for their efforts, as she, Talvish, and the Milletian would have had a difficult time without their assistance. Once Llywelyn explains that the Prophets must have learned how to transform the corpses infused with Divine Light of previous Alban Knights into Apostles, Avelin indicates that she noticed that the Apostle looked human-like. She then expresses her disgust towards the Prophets for desecrating the dead.
Next, the group turns its attention to Marcan, who is still trapped in the mineral. Avelin indicates that its possible to catch up to Brilluen and Pennar if the group hurries. The group then decides it must split to ensure that Marcan is watched over while the other group pursues the remaining Prophets. As such, Avelin says that she, Talvish, and the Milletian will track down Brilluen and Pennar. When Talvish states that Altam and Llywelyn will be joining them, Avelin begins to inform him that her two subordinates are not yet ready for the task. Talvish, Llywelyn, and the Milletian indicate that the group will function better with the two new additions, however. Avelin then complies despite not liking the idea.
With the new arrangements established, Avelin indicates that she must speak to Altam and Llywelyn privately before proceeding with the mission. She then pulls the two aside to give them a stern lecture.
Afterwards, Avelin, Talvish, Altam, Llywelyn, and the Milletian move deeper into Avalon. When Llywelyn reveals knowledge he has about the land, Avelin asks him if he can share information such as potential danger, but is given a negative answer. Next, Avelin informs the group that they must be prepared, as she can sense that the Prophets are not far despite the strong presence of Divine Light in the area. When Altam confirms the Divine Light's overwhelming nature in Avalon, Avelin explains that Altam had diligently trained his Divine Light skills as he guarded the gate, thus his senses are accurate.
Once Talvish orders the Arthuan Unit and the Milletian to venture deeper into Avalon, the knights split, with Avelin, Altam, Llywelyn, and the Milletian heading to the forest. Avelin reminds the other three about the mission at hand, telling them to remain vigilant and stay within sight of each other at all times while they search for clues. She then separates from her unit members and the Milletian.
Eventually, the Arthuan Unit and the Milletian reunite. When the Milletian relays another memory they witnessed revealing a dragon, then the Prophets passing through the area, Avelin tells the Milletian to show the group where the Prophets went. The group soon discovers Brilluen and Pennar trapped within minerals. However, the Sylvan Dragon that was seen in the Milletian's vision appears, prompting the knights to engage in battle with it.
After the dragon's defeat, the group's attention returns to the trapped Prophets. Avelin suggests waiting for reinforcements from the Heruin Unit as a cautionary measure. However, the Milletian relays new information from the Elder, asking the knights to perform the Prayer of the Humble to free the Prophets. Avelin is then convinced that the Milletian truly is communicating with the Elder and agrees to perform the ritual. She orders Altam and Llywelyn to make the necessary preparations.
Once the needed items are gathered, Avelin takes them and begins the prayer. The minerals that surrounded Brilluen and Pennar disappear once the ritual is complete. It is then decided that the two Prophets should be transferred to where the Heruin Unit is so that Caswyn can be informed on how to disarm the mineral trap.
The Arthuan Unit and the Milletian return to the Knights' Epitaph, where they meet Caswyn. Avelin informs Caswyn to use The Prayer of the Humble to release the trapped Marcan. Next, she indicates that the Prophets must be kept apprehended so that the knights can evaluate what must be done with them. In the meantime, it is decided that they temporarily take a break from scouting Avalon further.
Eventually, the knights scouting Avalon regroup and the Milletian reveals the Elder's wish to see the world beyond Avalon Gate. Avelin indicates that the other knights outside the gate need to know about the situation regarding the Prophets.
At Avalon Gate, Avelin, Caswyn, and Pihne meet the Milletian to discuss the visions the Milletian received. Avelin admits that the matter of why only they can see flashbacks perplexes her. Next, she reveals that Talvish is discussing the events that occurred thus far with the leaders of the Alban Knights along with what to do with the Elder's request. She further explains that some time will be needed before a decision is made. In the meantime, she directs the Milletian to busy themselves with other activities.
Sometime later, Avelin meets Altam and the Milletian at Avalon Gate. She affirms that the Prophets disappeared despite being held within cells and carefully watched over by guards. Moreover, she reveals that an investigation performed by the knights suggested that the Prophets returned to Avalon to tend to unfinished business. As Avelin indicates that battle units have gathered to track the Prophets down, she realizes that Caswyn has returned to deliver more news regarding the matter. She is disappointed to learn that no traces of the enemies were found. Next, she questions whether someone within the organization helped the Prophets escape due to the secretive nature of the location in which they had been detained. However, Avelin dismisses the notion once she is reminded that the knights should not distrust each other. When questioned by Caswyn about the Arthuan Unit's status, she informs him that they are waiting on Llywelyn.
Very soon, Llywelyn arrives and Avelin grants him permission to return to his quarters when asked. Avelin then uses the opportunity to inform the Milletian that Llywelyn mentors students beyond performing his duties as an Arthuan Unit member. She reveals that due to these activities as well as his lineage, Llywelyn is able to obtain information that is not normally accessible. Furthermore, Avelin indicates that a recent incident has caused him to attract more attention than usual. When Avelin suggests against explaning what the incident entailed, Altam takes over and explains why the Arthuan Unit has been a member short.
Afterwards, Avelin privately requests the Milletian's assistance once more. She confesses that they are considered important to the Alban Knights and a vital figure in their cause as they are capable of communing with the Elder. Avelin then informs them that it is ultimately their choice if they choose to converge with all the other knights within the fields of Avalon.
The Arthuan Unit and the Milletian return to Avalon, where they quickly across Mokkurkalfi, another guardian near the Abandoned Camp. Avelin and the others begin to engage it, but quickly find that it possesses regenerative abilities. Avelin realizes that the group must utilize fire to defeat the nearby worms. She then instructs the Milletian to distract the enemies while Altam and Llywelyn gather materials to create wildfires. Once the worms are lured to the fires and thus dealt with, the knights and the Milletian defeat Mokkurkalfi.
Afterwards, Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian follow Llywelyn, who spotted an injured knight at the Forgotten Shore. When they catch up to him, the injured knight explains that his unit had been attacked by a giant turtle monster during its search for the Prophets. The Arthuan Unit and the Milletian then head deeper into the beach, where they find Caswyn and Pihne, who by then had already dealt with the enemy. The Arthuan Unit is then informed by Pihne that the turtle monster was a guardian of Avalon.
Next, Avelin senses the Prophets in the nearby City Ruins, causing the Arthuan Unit and the Milletian head there. However, the entire group becomes trapped in separate minerals upon its arrival.
While trapped in the mineral, Avelin finds herself in an illusion world resembling Tara. Recognizing Southern Tara well, she begins to head down the steps leading outside of the city and into an open field. She shows up at the field right in time to watch Brilluen finish off Mairon, Avelin's younger brother, with Thunder. Not caring about the illusion, Avelin tells Brilluen that she intends to make her pay. Even so, an unconcerned Brilluen informs Avelin that what she is seeing is not an illusion, and that Avelin had played right into her hands. When Avelin learns that the hairband from her brother had magic implanted into it to track the movements of her and the other knights, and that Mairon had never wanted for her to become an Alban Knight, she cuts her ponytail as well as the hairband. The magical properties of the hairband are destroyed. Still, Avelin blames herself for all the bad events that had occurred since she joined the Alban Knights along with Mairon's death. She summons the Judgment Blade in an attempt to use Smiting on herself. However, she is shown the Shield of Trust by the Milletian, who also had witnessed the scene, to help her regain her bearings. Avelin admits to them that she had only joined the organization with the purposes of gaining revenge, and that she is unable to trust her own decisions now that she knows the truth. She eventually recovers, realizing that she cannot remain fixated on her brother's death as well as the dubious nature of the illusion. This causes the latter to break.
Afterwards, the Arthuan Unit and the Milletian, now joined by Talvish, encounter the Prophets within the City Ruins. The Prophets send Hasidim after the knights, this time stronger than before. The knights eventually come to defeat the enemy and weaken the Prophets. However, the Prophets are able to escape after being interrogated. It is then decided that the knights carry out an investigation, with some units searching for the Prophets and another searching for the Elder's body.
Sometime later, all the knights except for Talvish reconnect at the altar in the City Ruins. Avelin informs the Milletian that a woman's voice can be occasionally heard from the altar, therefore she asks for their assistance in investigating the matter. Once the investigation sees progress, Avelin reveals that some of the knights recognized the voice to be reciting an ancient prayer or spell, further suggesting that it belonged to an Alban priestess. Once the other knights reveal what they each heard, Avelin speculates that the voice speaking about the island's seal and the Elder. The knights then find themselves approached by Tagar, the source of the voice, and have no choice but to defeat her.
After the fight concludes, the group meets Talvish at the cliff. Avelin informs him about the encounter with Tagar and brings attention to the knights' shared concern in regards to reaching the Sanctum. The group soon comes to realization that it must ride the nearby unicorns to reach the Sanctum, however, and it is established that Caswyn and Pihne will stay behind to guard the rear.
Once the Arthuan Unit, Talvish, and the Milletian reach Berg Mesa, they encounter an enemy, Creag, a Golem who was tasked to guard the way to the Sanctum. The knights notice that Creag does not seem to be aggressive, but defeat the guardian to proceed onwards.
Upon arriving in the Sanctum, Avelin tells the others that she can sense an intense concentration of Divine Light. She turns her attention to the Milletian to inform them that the origin of the seal encompassing the entire island is likely to be present in the area along with the Elder's body. Avelin then admits that she's uncertain of how to focus solely on what's occurring in the present given all that has happened, however she believes that she was led to the Sanctum by Aton Cimeni. Before proceeding onwards, she says to the Milletian that it is strange and comforting that they both find themselves there, and more than anything, she hopes their journey can come to a safe end.
When the knights venture deeper into the Sanctum, they stumble upon the Prophets, who stand before the coffin where the Elder's body rests. The Prophets quickly find that the coffin is empty, however, and instead decide to attack the knights together with Hasidim. During the battle, Avelin gains the upper hand against Brilluen, but stops when the latter offers her a chance to defeat her for good. Avelin tells Brilluen that the Prophets are not a threat to the knights and their plan has failed. Furthermore, she offers Brilluen the opportunity to admit defeat and pursue redemption. However, Brilluen chides Avelin and reveals that the Prophets intend to use the Milletian as a vessel for their plan.
Once the Prophets and Cichol are dealt with, the knights begin to reassess the situation at hand, pinpointing that the Elder's body was not found within the Sanctum and the Prophets have been eliminated.
All the knights are soon gathered within the Sanctum along with Merlin. Through Merlin, the knights are able to learn that Talvish is in fact the Elder. Avelin initially dismisses Merlin's words as nonsense, however she is reassured by Talvish that he is telling the truth, much to the surprise of all the knights.
After Talvish uses the Black Greatsword to impale the Milletian, Avelin and the other knights notice they are unable to use their Divine Light, thus leaving them unable to interfere.
After the Milletian bests Talvish and the Sanctum is sealed off, Avelin and the other knights question how it is that Merlin knows Talvish. When Merlin begins to explain, the knights are initially skeptical, but eventually come to listen to his story. Immediately afterwards, Avelin senses the island's Divine Light stabilizing. The knights also sense something happening to Altam. When they inspect him, Avelin indicates that Altam's body is suffused with Divine Light which in turn is helping to protect him. The knights then decide to put the matter of the Elder's sword aside when they realize hordes of Crystal monsters have managed to infiltrate Avalon Gate.
Once the gate is successfully defended and the situation is explained to Shuan, Avelin realizes that the Treasure Hunter is attempting to steal a relic from within the area. She attempts to stop Merlin and the Treasure Hunter from escaping, however the two instantly vanish. Avelin and the other knights then begin to reassess the situation at Avalon Gate and within Avalon, including having to explain to the Elved Unit its lack of leader. She, Caswyn, and Pihne ultimately decide to tend to their units for the time being. Additionally, Avelin thanks the Milletian for working together with the Alban Knights and advises for them to rest and recover.
Much later, Avelin informs the Milletian that she as well as the rest of the occupants within Avalon Gate have been busier than due to the events that have occurred. Moreover, without Talvish, she indicates that the Alban Knights Organization is having a difficult time functioning. Next, reflects on all that has occurred and questions if it is the will of Aton Cimeni, although she possesses her own doubts. Avelin then mentions that there is active discussion in the organization regarding the idea of Altam succeeding Talvish as the Commander of the Alban Knights, however the matter has not been finalized. She admits that there are different estimations of the significance of the Elder's sword among the knights. When she turns the topic of discussion to the Milletian's recovery, she and the Milletian suddenly hear Altam, who has awakened.
Avelin joins Caswyn, Pihne, Llywelyn, and the Milletian at the infirmary in Avalon Gate to visit Altam. She informs Altam that he is past critical danger, but must refrain from becoming too animated due to his current state. When asked about Talvish, Avelin admits that none of the knights have noticed him leave the sanctum since the previous incident. Once the Milletian explains that they had met with Talvish beforehand, leading to a lengthy account, the Alban Knight captains agree to retire for the day. However, before they each depart, each of the individuals present, including Avelin, recite the motto of their organization together with Altam.
