Description

The Black Dragon has cast a cloud of fear and destruction across Erinn with a flap of its massive wings, and someone has to stop it!

How do you take on a Black Dragon you wonder? When you log in for the first time you’ll receive a quest showing where the Black Dragon is located. Black Dragon will appear at 11:00AM to 11:30AM and 7:00PM to 7:30PM Pacific on weekdays and 11:30AM to 12:00PM and 9:30PM to 10:00PM Pacific on weekends. When the Black Dragon appears and you enter the field zone, a Field Quest will spawn. The Field Quest will last up to 50 minutes and the zone will disappear after its expiration. Assemble your friends and approach this monstrosity during one of these windows.

*Field Quests disappear when you leave the zone, but if you re-enter while the same zone is active you will receive your same quest and no progress is lost.

Each person who enters the field zone will also recive[sic] a Side Quest. It will give you specific objectives you must complete to increase your contribution to the fight. A higher contribution rating gives you a better chance at good rewards.

The Black Dragon will wreak havoc until a group of brave Milletians ends its reign of terror! Slaying this beast will not only bring you honor but also great rewards:

Black Dragon Summoning Scroll

If you’re ready to face the beast, why not do so with a Black Dragon Summoning Scroll! This nifty item will give the following perks:

• Greater chance at better materials
• Summon a second Black Dragon even when a normal Black Dragon is already summoned
• Boost your contribution amount
• Easier to get demon items

Are you strong enough to face the Black Dragon?[1]

Basic Information

  • A message will be broadcasted to everyone in the channel when the Black Dragon spawns.
  • You may speak to one of the Town Messengers to transport to south of the Scorpion Mark in Connous or travel there on your own.
    • Two Options appear depending if the Dragon is summoned or if it's the regular spawn: Go to the Black Dragon or Go to the Summoned Black Dragon.
    • Town Messengers are located in:
  • A Dragon Messenger will be located near the Raid Zone.
    • The messenger sells potions, feathers, bandages, and marionette repair kits.
    • A Dispatched Dragon Messenger will be located near the player-summoned Black Dragon.
  • Upon entering the Raid Zone:
    • When your framerate drops below 10 FPS, you will be asked about minimizing performance settings automatically.
    • Pets and partners will be desummoned and will not be allowed out during the battle.
    • You will be given the Field Quest and one of the Sub Field Quests below.

Raid Information

  • When the raid begins, the Black Dragon spawns along with over a dozen Korsek Raptors.
    • A large cluster of Korseks will spawn near the Dragon and there will be several other raptors that spawn scattered across the map.
  • When killed Korsek Raptors will immediately respawn at the center of the map.
  • After killing roughly 10 Korsek Raptors, the maximum number of Raptors decreases by 1.

Spawn Times

  • The Black Dragon spawns anytime within the times below. Hover over the times below to see additional time zones.
    • 11:00am PDT100 ~ 11:15am PDT100
    • 7:00pm PDT100 ~ 7:15pm PDT100
  • The Black Dragon can also be spawned through the use of a Black Dragon Summon Scroll.
    • Note that a Black Dragon summoned through the scroll will appear south of Longa Desert.

Contribution

  • Contribution is the points system used in the Iria Raid.
  • As you complete the objectives in the Side Quest, you accumulate Contribution.
    • The maximum accumulated points in this raid is 8,500, which can only be obtained by Attack Units.
      • Other units may only achieve up to 8,000 points.
  • Contribution is used to determine the amount of Experience and Gold and quality of item received after a boss is killed.
    • Experience = Contribution * 20
    • Gold = Contribution * 4
    • The maximum amount of Contribution used in calculating experience and gold is 8000, thus 160,000 EXP and 32,000 Gold can be earned during this raid.
  • If you are a Medical Corp you will get the following Experience and Gold
    • Experience = Contribution * 24
    • Gold = Contribution * 2
  • A ranking list is displayed after the boss is defeated. Ranks are ordered by the amount of Contribution obtained.
    • If multiple participants tie, the character who was created first is rank 1. (Needs more testing)

Briefing See the Black Dragon with your own eyes. The Black Dragon usually shows up in Filia and the surrounding areas. You can talk to a Dragon Messenger to go to where a Black Dragon appears.

  • This is the main objective of the raid.

Briefing The Black Dragon has appeared with its minions. Since they might be mounting an attack, this is an emergency. Defeat the Black Dragon and its army as soon as possible.

Briefing The Attack Unit will face the greatest danger, but it will also be the team that can make the most contributions. Congratulations on joining the Attack Unit! Not everyone is qualified for that role. We don't have time to lose, so remember this. Defeat that Black Dragon at all costs. Achieve worldwide fame! Now, go and fight!

Briefing A Medical Team is like the mother of the entire army. You must be willing to put your life at stake to treat and save more soldiers. You can't serve in a Medical Team if you aren't brave and benevolent. We don't have time to lose. Go and save those collapsed soldiers! We'll remember your heroic deeds forever. Now go!

Tips

  • Use weapons, titles, and enchants that add high amount of Critical.
  • Mana Shield is recommended.
  • High injury rate will help prevent the Black Dragon and Korsek Raptors from regaining health when the Black Dragon flies and uses its Breath.
  • Ranged Skills can attack the Black Dragon while it is in Flight preparing for its Breath.
  • Run away as far as possible when the Black Dragon uses Flight and its Breath.
  • Avoid the Black Dragon's Stomp as it will knock anyone near its foot into deadly.
    • Its Stomp completely bypasses Mana Shield.
  • Be wary of the Korsek Raptors, as they have multi-aggro.
