History
Mainstream Story
Talvish appears in Gairech Hill while the Milletian and Avelin are fighting the Girgashiy summoned by Brilluen. Talvish asks Avelin if she told the Milletian to flee from battle, then advises her to take her own advice sometimes. He then assists the two in defeating Girgashiy.
After the fight, Talvish introduces himself to the Milletian as a member of the Alban Knights. He asks the Milletian if they would be willing to join the Alban Knights, believing that they could clear Altam of his accused betrayal and make a difference in the organization. Talvish then educates the Milletian about the Prophets, a group of heretics who worship a false God, and use corrupted divine magic to turn people into monsters. He further states that the knights fight back by turning the divine power back on itself.
Moving to another subject, Talvish tells the Milletian that Iria was compromised during the Milletian's tussle against the demigods. When asked about why he knows this, he informs the Milletian that his superiors consider them a dangerous force, therefore they must know everything about them. Finally, he mentions the door that was opened during the Milletian's final battle with Ruairi. He says the door shares similarities with the Soul Stream, however it is a doorway to the gods. This door allowed another god to enter Erinn and spread its influence across the world to turn people into Apostles. Talvish then, once again, asks the Milletian to join the Alban Knights. After receiving their approval, he indicates that he will meet the Milletian again soon, as he must forward the information to his superiors.
Talvish, Avelin, and the Milletian reconnect at the Emain Macha Assembly Area. There, Talvish reveals to the Milletian that Altam has been placed in a temporary unit with the younger knights. Thus, together with Avelin, they will have to work together for the time being. When asked about the Alban Knights, Talvish informs the Milletian that their order was founded when Aton Cimeni had given a cleric orders to create a band of holy knights. He further explains the two commands in the cleric's revelation: to allow the world to develop free of outside influence and that interlopers must be stopped at any cost. Talvish further reveals that the knights borrow the power of the gods to turn it against them. Because of this, the knights must operate in secret since the people of Erinn and the church could potentially misinterpret their actions as something dangerous. Finally, he tells the Milletian to follow him and Avelin.
Shortly afterwards, Talvish says that as a team, they will follow up on rumors gathered by their intelligence unit through alleviating scared peoples' fears. He then points out that there are more people volunteering to become Apostles, and tracking these Apostle can lead to the Prophets. Moreover, he explains that the knights operate in groups of three. Thus, he will temporarily serve as a member of Avelin's group while her other member besides Altam is away on an emergency. He then directs the Milletian to gather information from the residents of Emain Macha, but warns them to not be obvious as they do so.
Once the Milletian returns, Talvish advises the Milletian to be more subtle in their approach, as they directly asked for information. He then determines that Dunbarton and Taillteann are possible targets for Apostle attacks, sending the Milletian to both locations to gather more information.
After the Milletian returns with more information, Talvish pieces together that Marcan or Pennar could have requested orders to the Weapon Shop and Clothing Shop of Dunbarton and Taillteann respectively. Moreover, whichever indicated Prophet intends to head to either Abb Neagh or Corrib Valley. Talvish notices that vital information is missing, however the knights' search has been narrowed regardless. He then directs the Milletian to meet him in Abb Neagh.
In Abb Neagh, Talvish senses a trace of the divine, speculating that the enemy might be nearby. He points out that Avelin is exceptional at tracking divine magic, thus she would be better suited for the task. Talvish then decides to search the area anyway, while directing the Milletian to talk with the Bard Camp residents in case they may need to evacuate the area.
Once the Milletian tells Talvish about the golden light witnessed by Hamelin, Talvish informs them that such an occurrence marks the birth of a new Apostle. He further explains that the human host gives up their life, transforming into a hostile creature as well as a puppet of the Prophet who created them. Talvish then indicates that an Apostle must be around, with its Prophet not far away. As such, he tells the Milletian to remain in the area while he leaves to fetch Avelin.
When Talvish returns with Avelin, the two knights propose their opposing views on how to handle the situation. Talvish suggests waiting until the Apostle and Pennar make their appearances to strike at both of them. When Avelin suggests moving the Bard Camp residents to a safer location instead, Talvish argues that these actions would waste time, plus Pennar could potentially attack the location the residents are moved to. The two knights then ultimately decide to go with Talvish's plan.
As Talvish, Avelin, and the Milletian search for Pennar, they discover more mutated creatures to defeat. Talvish then suggests to leave to draw Pennar out. However, his idea is dismissed by Avelin. The group then conducts more searching, defeating more mutated creatures along the way. Eventually, Talvish and Avelin ponder whether Pennar planned an escape route rather than a trap. The group soon finds Pennar nearby.
Upon encountering Pennar, Talvish demands Pennar to turn himself over, however Pennar is uninterested in Talvish's approach to battle. Girgashiy is then summoned, forcing the knights and the Milletian to engage in battle with it. Once Girgashiy is defeated, Talvish and Avelin request the Milletian to chase down Pennar as the Prophet heads west.
When the Milletian returns to Talvish and Avelin, Talvish points out that he senses a divine contamination within the Milletian. He further suggests for them to refrain from using their powers. When the Milletian indicates that they feel fine, Talvish explains that their injury will grow until it breaks them from the inside. Thus, using their full powers may potentially turn them into an Apostle. He then tells the Milletian that there is a place that can cure them, however he would need permission from his superiors for them to enter. Changing the subject, Talvish reminds Avelin that the current day is the last of Altam's probation, further suggesting that they should return with him. Talvish then leaves, wishing Avelin and Milletian safe travels.
Much later, Talvish arrives in Port Ceann in time to decipher that the Prophets intend to head for Rath Royal Castle to target Eirawen. When the Milletian tells the others they will head to the castle, Talvish indicates that he, Avelin, and Altam will continue to hunt while they are gone. He then suggests to use his ability to transfer all the knights' powers to the Milletian in order for them to handle Girgashiy alone. Talvish further explains that each of the knights have their own abilities, with his being the unique ability to absorb and redirect divine power. He then tells the Milletian that he will give them Altam and Avelin's abilities, although it will leave the two other knights temporarily weakened. Finally, Talvish indicates that it will take time for the Milletian to become acquainted with their new abilities, then reassures them, as they are the only one who can handle the situation at hand.
Once Eirawen is saved, Altam, Avelin, and Talvish meet the Milletian in the Emain Macha Assembly Area. Talvish tells the Milletian that he has never transferred the abilities of two knights at once, which initially lead to his concern. He then says that despite this, because the Milletian contained the power of a demigod for a long time already, they were seemingly unafraid to embrace their newfound powers. He then tells the Milletian that eventually, they may be able to use all of the knights' abilities freely. Talvish further explains that while the Alban Knights typically only wield one skill that they must master, the Milletian will need to master the three they have obtained. Furthermore, he suggests that the Milletian may have obtained their own special power. Finally, he informs the Milletian that the markings on the wall of the Assembly Area will lead them directly to the Apostles. He then bids them farewell.
Subsequently, Talvish welcomes the Milletian as a new member of the Alban Knights, leading him to recite the knights' motto together with Avelin and Altam.
After requesting the Milletian's presence in Taillteann, Talvish informs them about a rumor regarding a corpse containing a golden aura that was brought back to life. He then asks the Milletian for their assistance in investigating the matter since the other Alban Knights are busy. Once the Milletian agrees, Talvish tells them that the other knights will come to their aid, as the knights prefer to stick to groups of three to have each others' backs.
Sometime later, when Avelin, Altam, and the Milletian encounter an Apostle-like creature at the Qilla Base Camp, Talvish arrives, standing next to Marcan. Talvish explains to the others that the creature that appeared was indeed an Apostle, and that Marcan had been hiding behind the barrier to control it. Talvish then points out that Marcan lost his focus once he had been attacked. Upon questioning whether Brilluen and Pennar forced Marcan to do their bidding, Talvish receives a dissatisfactory answer. Talvish then taunts Marcan, causing the ogre to escape.
Upon the conclusion of the battle, Talvish explains that the Apostles can be stopped by attacking the Prophets if the Prophets are nearby. Altam praises Talvish for his actions. Avelin, on the other hand, points out that the attacks and Crusader Skills used by Altam, the Milletian, and herself had no effect on the Apostle. Talvish then ties together the events that occurred up to that point before suggesting to track down the Apostle. Furthermore, he suggests they spread the word about the events that happened. In response, Avelin asserts that the Arthuan Unit does not require the help of the Elved Unit. However, Talvish informs her that their mission will not be easy, even with the Milletian's assistance. After the two go back and forth regarding the Milletian's role in assisting the Alban Knights, Talvish ultimately informs the group that he intends to consult the Commander to ensure the Arthuan Unit has authorization to carry out the mission. Moreover, he tells the others that he will be free to accompany them on the mission.
Eventually, the Milletian uses the necklace to view a memory of the Elder and his knights protecting the Avalon Gate from Heretics. The Milletian then shares this information with Avelin and Talvish. When Avelin asks to lend the necklace from the Milletian, the Milletian refuses, prompting Avelin to explain that memories pertaining to the past Alban Knights are vital to their group. Talvish defends the Milletian's choice, then politely asks them if the necklace can be used by the knights. Once the Elder's Necklace is tried by Avelin and Talvish, however, nothing happens. Talvish then concludes that he must consult the Commander about the necklace.
Afterwards, Talvish suggests for the group to head to the ruins of the Alban Knights. Avelin protests, stating that they must find the Prophets. However, Talvish informs her that Brilluen and Pennar are already heading to Belvast. He then reminds the group that he must consult the Commander. Prior to taking his leave, he suggests that chance might not have been a factor in the Milletian's discovery of the necklace.
Sometime later, Talvish arrives at the Alban Knights' ruins and Altam informs him that the Prophets appeared. Talvish suggests the possibility of the Prophets invading the area prior to the knights encountering them. He then tells them that he will report the new information to the Commander. Moreover, he tells the others that the Commander considered the situation serious enough that all of the generals should join the Arthuan Unit in its mission. After a bit of consideration towards the idea, Talvish then tells everyone to head to the Emain Macha Assembly Area, where Caswyn and Pihne are soon expected to arrive. When Avelin suggests stationing knights to protect the people, Talvish responds to her by saying that the knights of Baltane are needed to watch over Avalon Gate.
After the Milletian convinces Talvish to allow Altam to tag along on the dangerous mission, the group heads to the Emain Macha Assembly Area. There, the knights and the Milletian wait for Caswyn and Pihne, however only Pihne shows up. Soon, an ambush of Reanimated Corpses appears, leaving the group no choice but to fend them off.
After the Reanimated Corpses are cleared, the knights notice that Caswyn, the leader of the Heruin unit, still has yet to arrive. Talvish asks Pihne if she might know why Caswyn is taking his time. Pihne points out that Caswyn had the tendency of going to a hill west of Taillteann by himself whenever he had something important to think about. It is then suggested that the knights and the Milletian head to the mentioned location to find him.
The group heads to the hill west of Taillteann, but find that Caswyn is still not present. Talvish then suggests that they all continue to search Taillteann for him and come up with a new plan if he is still not found afterwards. The group splits up to cover different directions, with Talvish heading north.
Once Caswyn is found by the Milletian, Talvish addresses the pressing matter now that the four generals have reunited: tracking and defeating the Prophets. In addition to this, he asks Caswyn and Pihne for their thoughts on Altam being included in the mission. Pihne says that Altam should be free to make his own decisions despite being young, while Caswyn, initially indifferent, states that he has no objections. Avelin, by then convinced, also decides that Altam can come along. The group is then given the name "Celestial Six" by Altam before heading to Cor Village.
In Cor Village, Pihne is able to gather intel and deduce that the Apostles will likely return by nightfall. Talvish suggests they all remain in the area until then. Afterwards, Caswyn points out that something is strange without specifying what. The Celestial Six then wait until midnight for the possible attack.
At midnight, Altam and Talvish split from the group to search for any Prophets in the area. They return not long after Avelin, Caswyn, Pihne, and the Milletian encounter and defeat an Apostle. Then, the Celestial Six take a break.
Once the Milletian discovers the location where the Arthuan Shard is sealed through the use of the Elder's necklace, the Celestial Six head to Lunae Valley. There, Pihne points out that the altar is not present, further questioning whether something must be done in order for it to appear. Caswyn suggests to Avelin to use up all of her Divine Light. Concern is expressed for Avelin by some of the knights. However, Avelin agrees and carries out the task, causing the altar to reveal itself. The Prophets also show up with the intent of stealing the Arthuan Shard. A brief fight occurs between the knights and the Reanimated corpses with Zebach before the Prophets escape.
Pihne searches the altar but is unable to find the Arthuan Shard, leaving her to guess that it has fallen into the Prophets' hands. The Celestial Six then discuss the strong probability of the Prophets intent to pass beyond the Avalon Gate and find the Elder's body. With this information, they decide on a plan to reclaim the Arthuan Shard from the Prophets and find the remaining three shards. The group subsequently splits to allow the Milletian, Avelin, and Caswyn to rest at the Hot Springs, while Pihne, Altam, and Talvish hunt for the Prophets.
The knights move out to seek the Heruin Shard at Port Ceann next. When they move deeper into the beach, the knights find that Caswyn is not there. Talvish suggests to secure the perimeter of the area while they await his return. Eventually, Caswyn appears along with the altar. He secures the Heruin Shard and indicates that he modified the altar's security device into a trap, which successfully catches Brilluen and Pennar.
Unfortunately for the knights, Marcan appears with a more powerful version of Zebach. The Celestial Six and the Milletian are left to defeat it while the Prophets escape. At the conclusion of the battle, Pihne suggests that the new Apostles brought by the Prophets could be a sign of the Prophets' desperation to obtain the shards. Talvish then inquires about Caswyn's condition. Caswyn states that he is fine, causing Talvish to question his sincerity.
Soon, Altam questions the possibility of a traitor existing amongst the group. Avelin tells him not to spout nonsense, while Pihne reassures him by stating that none of them would dare to work alongside the Prophets. Contrarily, Caswyn suggests to investigate Altam's theory anyway. This causes Talvish to urge the Celestial Six to think rationally. He states that pursuing the Prophets is necessary if the knights want answers, but also considers the possibility as well. When the Milletian states that they are the traitor, the knights are thrown into disarray. However, Talvish indicates that this cannot be so; the Alban Knights would have known since there is constant surveillance on the Milletian.
When the Celestial Six have a moment of rest, Talvish inquires about Caswyn's health. Caswyn indicates that he is fine, causing Talvish to point out that Pihne thinks otherwise. Caswyn then insists on being left alone despite other's desire to help him. After Talvish requests for the Milletian's assistance in restraining Caswyn, Caswyn expresses that he believes Talvish is the traitor. When the other questions this, Caswyn states that he has evidence. Furthermore, he tells Talvish that he cannot figure out what kind of person Talvish is, thus he is guilty until proven innocent. Talvish questions the evidence mentioned by Caswyn, but upon receiving no answer, Talvish tells Caswyn that he still respects him and leaves.
Eventually, Talvish asks the Milletian to cook for the knights, causing the others to share favorable opinions of the idea except for Avelin. The knights then split into teams of two to gather ingredients. Talvish opts to fish at the hill while Caswyn simply lies down on the ground nearby. Once all the ingredients are gathered, the group enjoy a meal cooked by the Milletian.
Sometime later, Altam suggests hiding the Heruin Shard in a place safe from the Prophets. However, the knights discover that the Prophets were already in the area, watching the group from the cliff. The Prophets disappear when the knights raise their guard. The knights question this, but soon find themselves caught in a trap set by the Prophets. The Black Wizard then appears with the Heruin Shard in his possession, taunting the group before he leaves. Out of desperation, Talvish asks the Milletian to use the Elder's necklace to view another memory and locate the next shard.
The Celestial Six head for Blago Prairie to locate the Eiler Shard that was seen there in the memory. Upon arriving at the location, Pihne begins to feel unwell, but tells the others that she is fine. When Talvish asks her if she feels well enough to use her Divine Light to reveal the altar, she does not respond. Pihne then reveals the altar using her Divine Light, only to become exhausted afterwards. On the other hand, the knights notice that the chest where the Eiler Shard would be has already been tampered with. Much to the knights' surprise, the same Apostle from before appears. The group realizes that it has no choice but to fight it.
After the fight, Talvish revisits the idea of a traitor existing amongst them. He states that the Prophets may have the Elved Shard already, further questioning why the Prophets are always a step ahead of them. However, Pihne and Caswyn suddenly disappear, causing Talvish to ask the Milletian to search for them while he, Altam, and Avelin look for the Prophets in Belvast. He further tells the Milletian that a man resembling Caswyn was said to be spotted near Lake Calida.
Later, in the Forest of Temptation, Caswyn confronts Talvish, saying that he knows Talvish is the spy for the Prophets. Talvish expresses concern towards investigating the area for their enemies, but also states that he is more concerned about Pihne above all else. Caswyn then says that he does not trust Talvish and that he will be watching his every move. The two begin to fight, however the Milletian eventually stops them.
Sometime afterwards, Talvish shows up at Lunae Valley when he suspects something off about the Milletian and Avelin's meeting there. When 'Avelin' reveals herself as Brilluen in disguise, she tells the Milletian that she intends to get rid of them for good, then sends Pennar after them as she leaves. This causes Talvish to make his appearance known, much to Pennar's annoyance. Talvish decides to help the Milletian fight off Pennar. When two Zebachs are sent after the Milletian and Talvish, however, Caswyn suddenly appears and helps them defeat the Apostles. All the while, Pennar escapes. In a brief moment of rest following the battle, Caswyn and Talvish make up. The group then heads back to Belvast.
Once the Celestial Six reunite, Pihne tells the knights everything about herself, including her past and her time as an Apostle. Talvish refers to Pihne's case as unique, since she became an Apostle, but returned to the light. The knights settle on coming to a decision on Pihne's case at a later time, prioritizing the protection of the Avalon Gate.
When the Celestial Six arrive at the Avalon Gate grounds, however, they find Reanimated Corpses within the area. The group soon finds all of the Prophets gathered outside of the gate as well. The Celestial Six then prepare for another battle against Zebach, this time in its final form. Unfortunately for the knights, the Zebach overwhelms each of them.
However, Talvish revives the Milletian and informs them that Caswyn was able to save him from a mortal blow. Talvish then tells the Milletian that he will remain by their side "until the bitter end." During the Milletian's fight with Zebach, Talvish further informs the Milletian that he can use his Divine Light to heal them whenever they need it.
After the Zebach is defeated by the Milletian, Talvish informs them that the Prophets managed to escape at the last minute. He then says that the Prophets intend to wait for the right moment to invade Avalon Gate. In their moment of rest, Talvish questions where the Prophets have gone. Unfortunately, Talvish and the Milletian find the Prophets standing before the Avalon Gate with all of the Alban Knights' Shards. Before Talvish and the Milletian can act, however, Brilluen casts a spell to temporarily immobilize them. The Prophets then bid the knights farewell as they pass beyond the gate.
Eventually, the other knights return to consciousness. Talvish reveals to the others that the Prophets entered the Avalon Gate. However, his efforts of combining the knights' Divine Light when the Prophets used the Sacred Mark caused the Prophets to become trapped beyond the gate. It is then decided that although the Celestial Six completed its mission, a new strategy must be devised.
Subsequently, Talvish asks about the others' well-being and if they wish to rest, prompting the knights to do so. Very soon, it is decided by Talvish that the Celestial Six must disband. After the knights thank the Milletian, Talvish expresses admiration towards the Milletian's ability to link souls and further wonders if they can use it to find out more about the Elder. Talvish then tells the Milletian to share anything they discover about the Alban Knights' history.
The impression you have upon seeing him is of the hard edge of a tempered blade or the resolute stoicism of a marble bust--an intimidating presence heightened by the folded white wings upon his back. To meet his gaze it to plumb the unfathomable depths of time and memory, touched with a hint of anguish.
