Lance Leap was devised to compensate for the weapon's inherent shortcoming of being unable to bring its full power to bear at close range. Skilled lancers saw the need for defensive maneuvers beyond simply the Lance Counter, a skill difficult to hold indefinitely in a pitched battle. The Lance Leap was devised as a means by which a combatant can open distance between themselves and their opponent, securing a more advantageous position from which to quickly launch their next big attack.

Details

• While using a lance the user jumps back upon using this skill a set amount of distance. This distance will increase with higher ranks.
• The skill then grants a speed boost to on-foot Lance Charge for a few seconds.
  • The amount of seconds to use this bonus is increased at higher ranks.
• Lance Leap will leap from the where the player is moving towards, rather than facing.
  • Changing targets will not change the direction of Lance Leap, unless the character is already moving to that target.
• Just like with the Evasion skill, additional Lance Leaps will be acquired at higher ranks.
• When the player moves away from receiving a melee attack, the player will take just a portion of the damage instead. They will not be knocked back compared to receiving the same attack while standing still or using a skill that does not defend or counter.
• Elves cannot learn this skill.
