All substances contain the 4 Alchemy attributes of Water, Fire, Wind, and Dirt. The reason that substances deteriorate or fade is because these attributes change. If the distinct attributes of a substance can be changed, it is possible to create new substances. Alchemists have long studied the relationship between the flow of time and the changes in substances. As a result, Alchemists have become successful in changing the attributes of metals. Through this skill, you will be able to transform normal and readily available metals into rare and valuable metals. And, if you are lucky, you will also be able to create precious gems such as diamonds or new metals never seen before in Erinn. This skill can only be used at a Dry Oven.

Details
- Allows the user to change a metal into other metals.
- Ores can be used to make one ore of the next grade.
- Ingots can be used to make an ingot of the next grade.
- Ores can be used to make the following fragments instead of converting to the next grade:
- Unknown Ore Fragments may be converted into Iron Ingots.
- The amount of ores needed decreases with the skill rank.
- Sometimes the above ores and Gems are produced as side products.
- A successful conversion will only produce a single product regardless of the number of materials used. All unused materials are returned.
- Upon failure, the player may lose some or all of the materials used.
- After selecting what to create and providing the necessary materials, a mini-game is started.
- The game consists of a spinner with four sections, one for each element (Clay, Fire, Wind, and Water).
- At the beginning of the game, a section of each element flashes green 2 times.
- The formula for determining the total success rate is: Base Success Rate * Day of the Week Multiplier * Weather Multiplier + Alchemy Mastery Bonus + Transmutation Bonus
- Days of the Week: Saturday = 1.2, Other Days = 1.0
- Weather: Thunderstorm = 1.2, Rain = 1.1, Cloudy/Clear = 1.0

Mini Game
- The conversion will commence after four clicks.
- A success occurs when the needle lands on a green section.
- A failure occurs when the needle lands on a brown section.
- The range of the green sections will narrow at rank 9 and rank 5, however the potential rewards are increased.
- The outcome of the minigame merely affects the item produced and not the success rate itself.
Tip: For accuracy and speed, start with the top section and go counter-clockwise.
**Note: The minigame does not alter your percentage chance of getting the initial product, but increases your chance of a rare byproduct if you so choose to play it properly, such as Zinc Ore Fragment, Tin Ore Fragment, etc. However, this also eliminates the chance for extra initial products.
