Generation 22: Apocalypse sees a mysterious organization known as the Order of the Black Moon scheming to kidnap worshippers of Hymerark in an effort to revive the Fomors' old king: Balor of the Evil Eye.

  1. Examine the suspicious evidence on the ground.
    • Find a shining spot on the road immediately outside the south-east exit of Dunbarton.
    • Hint: If you open the quest details in the quest log, you can use the [Location Check] button to locate what you are looking for on the map.
  2. Discover where the strange sound came from.
    • Find a shining spot past the fields near a lone tree directly south from the previous shining spot.
    • After examining the shining spot you will be given a prompt to enter the Shadow Mission, Chance and Destiny. Rewards [150,000 EXP; 30,000 G]
      • Getting Knocked Unconscious will automatically fail the mission.
      • A short cutscene will play. Afterward, you will fight three waves of enemies.
        • Wave 1: Fomor Lancer x4 + Fomor Archer x2.
        • Wave 2: Fomor Fighter x4 + Black Moon Follower (shield) x1 + Black Moon Follower (bow) x1.
        • Wave 3: Fomor Archer x2 + Fomor Fighter x2 + Black Moon Follower (shield) x1 + Black Moon Follower (bow) x1.
      • Immediately after the third wave you will view a short cutscene introducing Cethlenn. A fourth wave with Cethlenn will spawn and regardless of whether you fight, a dialogue will start after 1 minute 30 seconds.
        • Wave 4 (optional): Fomor Warrior x2 + Black Moon Follower (shield) x2 + Black Moon Follower (bow) x2 + Cethlenn.
        • Cethlenn can use Snap Cast, Ice Spear, Fireball, and Lightning Rod. He also has a unique skill that summons a shadow with a scythe.
        • Unless you have very high magic defense and magic protection, it is advised to flee the area and wait.
      • After 1 minute 30 seconds a dialogue will start. After the dialogue, the mission will complete and you will automatically exit.
  3. Talk to the young man.
  4. Complete the quest. [50,000 EXP; 5,000 G]
  5. Wait a short while to get the next quest.

To Rise Against Misfortune

    • Talk to Piran, you will be prompted: [You can count on me] or [I need time to prepare].
    • After selecting [You can count on me], you will enter a Shadow Mission Wheel of Misfortune. Rewards [150,000 EXP; 30,000 G]
      • Talk to Piran again.
      • You will now be accompanied by Piran. He does not fight and can not be targeted by enemies.
      • Along the dirt path to Taillteann there will be circles indicating the triggers for waves of enemies.
      • For the 4th wave, a Violent Neid will spawn in the lake.
        • Neid is an enemy that telegraphs its attacks: they can all be avoided by running. This Neid uses water cannon just as much as any other attack. Water cannon is extremely dangerous and can defeat you in one hit with heavy wounding. Neid can not be attacked with chain slash skills.
        • After engaging with Neid for a short while, it will retreat back into the lake and reappear at a different location.
        • Anything that increases movement speed will be helpful. For example, you can use March Song or Awakening of Light.
        • One strategy is to use Divine Link with a pet to increase its defenses and command it to attack the Neid. Have Rank 1+ Firebolt: you will want to use a chain casting Fire Wand or Celtic Tribolt Wand. Move close enough to hit it with firebolt, but be ready to run as soon as it appears to start an attack animation.
      • After defeating all waves of enemies a short cutscene will play. After the cutscene the mission will complete, you will automatically exit and you will be transported to Tara's north trading post.

The talismans are non-stackable, single-use, special inventory items that will contribute one point to the objective. You will need to obtain all 7 talismans to proceed.

    • The first person can be found near the trees in Sen Mag Prairie near the entrance to Emain Macha.
      • His wife is the eighth person and can be found in Emain Macha in the small lake behind the clothing store.
    • The second person can be found near the the Sen Mag Entrance a bit south of Fiodh.
    • The third person will be found near the Bookstore in Tara.
      • Talk to him again and you will be taken inside the shadow mission Collect Clues 2. Rewards [100,000 EXP; 20,000 G]
        • The third person will follow you at human running speed and can get stuck around corners if you are too fast. Your goal will be to bring that person to the north Tara trading post
        • Continuously, a group of enemies (Fomor Archer x 1, Fomor Lancer x 1, Black Moon Follower x 1) will spawn around the person after a number of seconds have passed without you fighting that group. That person will not move while enemies are present. It is advised that you start moving as soon as the mission begins and immediately after every battle.
    • The fourth person can be found to the east of the Stone Quarry Moon Gate in Sliab Cuilin.
      • His father is the fifth person and is located in Tailteann's square.
      • When returning to the fourth person after locating his father, he will ask what color his father was wearing. Answer: Gray.
    • The sixth person is at the tree on Spiral Hill in Dugald Aisle
    • The seventh person is at the Morva Aisle moongate.
    • The ninth person is in the southeastern-most side of Reighinalt in Gairech Hill

    • You will fight 5 waves of Long-Remembered Warriors, Fighters, and Soldiers. Afterwards you will fight Long-Remembered Archfoe. All are simple enemies with very basic AI.
    • Take down the boss's HP by 50% to trigger a cutscene and complete the mission.

      • Examining the monolith inside the mission will push you to the other side of the field and spawn a wave of enemies that must be defeated in an Offering Circle.
      • The Haunted Druids use high level magic and are very dangerous. It is advised you defeat them first regardless of whether they will fall into the circle. Then you can take care to defeat the enemies of ice inside the circle.
      • After the circle is completed another will spawn nearby. Complete them all and then destroy the monolith.
  6. Seek out the next destination.
    • Talk to Piran to answer a prompt. Answer Emain Macha.

      • The monolith is surrounded by Slimes and Giant Slimes. Neither of these are aggressive and they deal very little damage. Giant slimes will split into 2 slimes when hit.
      • Knock the slimes into the Offering Circle under the monolith to breach its defenses. Each defeated slime is worth 4% completion.
      • After the offering circle is complete the monolith will be vulnerable. Destroy it to complete the mission.
  3. Seek out the next destination.
    • Talk to Piran to receive a prompt. Answer Avon.
  4. Speak to Marleid

      1. Spawns are 4 waves of Hellcat x4 + Graveyard Ghost x4 + Ghoul x2 + Wight x2.
      2. After 4 waves, there will be a cutscene, and a Crying Ghost will spawn.
      • The Crying Ghost summons Hellcat x1, Graveyard Ghost x2, Ghoul x1, Wight x1. It takes 0 damage from all attacks but does not attack otherwise.
      1. Killing the spawned Hellcat drops a Shining Shard. After using 10, the mission will clear and a cutscene will occur.
        • If the Crying Ghost is close to the shield surrounding Marleid, Piran, and Vayne, it is possible for a mob to spawn inside the shield, and then the player cannot attack it directly. It can be damaged with pets cause damage upon summoning.
        • Kills made by pets, Colossus Marionette, or Pierrot Marionette will cause the Shining Shard to be unlootable.
  7. The quest will auto-clear. [50,000 EXP; 5,000 G]

Balor of the Evil Eye

Instruction

  3. Stop the revived Balor.
    • You will be taken into the mission, A False Promise.
      1. Follow the path. A cutscene will occur after interacting with the door at the end.
      2. Defeat Balor of the Evil Eye.
        • Balor has the following skills:
          • Summons 3 Salamanders. Killing them leaves a damaging field (a glowing circle that lasts around a minute) on the ground. When far enough they will ignore the player entirely.
          • Teleportation, Balor may travel as far as the other side of the "circle" (the circle of bricks on the ground).
          • Rushes forward, swiping twice. Balor can be dodged by simply going behind him; he will do this 2 times at least.
          • The Grab: Balor roars, instantly grabbing the player, slamming the player onto the ground twice then throws the player a fair distance.
            • Hitting Balor with the affects of summoned pets, or Marleid, 5 times will cancel the attack.
            • Any skill that was already activated (like Fireball, Bachram Explosion or Meteor Strike) where Balor is standing will not cancel his ability once he grabs the player but it will still damage Balor.
            • This attack cancels any loaded skill, including Final Hit.
          • Fire Pillar: Balor conjures a fire orb, slams the ground, creating a flaming pillar underneath himself or in four spots around Balor. The area where the pillars erupt will result in damaging puddles (they are 2 times bigger than what the Salamanders leave behind).
            • Balor cannot be attacked nor targeted with any skill during this time.
