  • Goddess of Destruction? ...I don't know about a Goddess of Destruction, but I do know of a Woman of Destruction. ...My sister.
She throws a temper tantrum at least once a month... Sometimes, she'll even throw thing [sic] which I have to clean up... I can't stand it...
CharacterName... How long do I have to take this from her?

  • Badbh Cath... You must be talking about Macha, one of the three goddesses of war...
Macha has disappeared from Erinn long ago. There's a lot of talk as to what happened to her...
If Morrighan was the goddess who protected warriors, Macha gave the fighting spirit within the warriors to lead them to victory...
...She is the goddess who would control emotions such as fear, anxiety, anger, and sadness within the hearts of warriors.....
...How is it that she is going to bring calamity upon this world...? I can't seem to understand what's about to happen here...

  • Macha, the Goddess of Destruction? All I know is that she is one of the three goddesses of war in the Badbh Cath.
It consists of Morrighan, Macha, and Neamhain... The story of Morrighan is quite famous, but I haven't really heard much about Macha or Neamhain.
...I suppose the Goddess who saved us from the Mag Tuireadh war would have the most lasting impression on people, right?

  • ...Macha... The Goddess of Destruction...? CharacterName... Have you heard of the Badhbh Cath by any chance? it is the name for the three Goddesses of war. Morrighan, Macha...and I don't remember the name of the third one...
They all disappeared sometime around the Mag Tuireadh war. Since Morrighan is the Goddess who helped humans the most, people still remember her and talk about her.
However, Macha... ...Does that mean she survived the war...?
I can't believe she had something to do with destroying the seal that blocks off the other world from here.

  • There are various legend regarding Macha... but it's not well known because they are mostly terrifying. One theory says that Macha was originally the Goddess of Abundance, but she became the Goddess of Destruction after she was betrayed by a human.
Seeing that Morrighan is the Goddess of Vengeance and the Goddess of Love at the same time, the theory doesn't seem to be too far fetched.

Emain Macha 2
  • Ah... Are you asking me about Goddess Macha? I'm not really familiar with her being reffered to as the "Goddess of Destruction"... But I did hear something about that from Jocelin once. So let me see... They say Macha was once a Goddess but chose to become human. ...She fell in love with a mortal man. ...It would've been great if it worked out well, but they eventually seperated and the man married another woman. ...The Goddess became depressed, and put a curse on humans at a nearby lake as she threw herself in there. ...Jocelin said the moral of this story is not to trust men too casually... What do you think, CharacterName?
Ailionoa
Ailionoa.png
Emain Macha 2
  • Oh, you're asking me about Goddess Macha. My answer is always the same...There's something that doesn't make sense when I hear Macha's story. They say she gave up her divinity to become human, right? Even though she had the ability to read humans' thoughts? ... And she still got tricked by a man and believed she was in love... I don't understand how she got blinded by this idea of love and got deceived by this man. ...And now she blames all humans? I just don't understand her...

  • Goddess of Destruction, Macha...? I'm not actually from this town... So I don't know anything about Macha's relation to this town. Long ago, after there was a bad year in crops here, they changed the name of the city to Emain Macha. Supposedly, after that, there was no more drought and they had great harvests. So that was probably... during the rule of the previous Lord... who was the father of the current Lord. It was when the elder was given the land of Emain Macha and had just become a Lord. ...The previous Lord was a great warrior, who defeated the Fomors alongside the great wizard, Mores... Because of his noble deed, he was given this land to rule which he then changed the name of the city to Emain Macha. At least, that's what I heard.

  • Mm... You want to know about Goddess Macha...? There isn't much I can tell you... Have you heard this? ... Macha is the Goddess of Destruction and Dissension. Although her curse no longer affects us, according to the Paladins, she changes forms and still appears around here from time to time. Sometimes as a mermaid, and other times even as a Siren... Wait, you believe all this? ...It's just a rumor amongst us Paladins, so don't pay too much attention to it. Come to think of it, the symbol of Emain Macha is a mermaid holding a shield...
Del
Del.png
Emain Macha 2
  • You want to know about the relationship between Macha and Emain Macha..? They say this city was named after Macha to appease the angry Goddess... It happened a long time ago... There was a heavy drought in the land, causing a bad year of harvest. All the water in the land was dried up. There weren't any fish... Let alone trees that bore any fruit. ... People around this town said that it was because of the curse of Macha, and so, in order to appease her, they named the city after her, Emain Macha. ...Then...after that, the drought stopped... Isn't that amazing?
Delen
Delen.png
Emain Macha 2
  • The relationship between Macha and Emain Macha..? Oh, there's something I heard about that . The word Emain, from the name 'Emain Macha' supposedly means, 'another body'. It can also be defined as twins. So, I think Emain Macha means Macha's body double. Maybe they thought since the city is named after her, that they would receive blessings from her? Well, if no blessing, they must have hoped that she at least wouldn't curse the city... Well, no one knows for sure... Maybe you should talk to other people about it. You can go talk to Emain Delen... haha...

  • Oh, that's about that Goddess who became human for love, right? After hearing that story... I couldn't help but think what a dog that man is. How is he going to break a girl's heart when she sacrificed so much to be with him..? If the Goddess confessed her love to me I would've never betrayed her... But, no matter how beautiful she is, I think I would be a bit overwhelmed by the fact that she is the Goddess who oversees wars. Haha...
Galvin
Galvin.png
Emain Macha 2
  • Haha... I'm not all too familiar with that because I'm not originally from here, but I did hear something about it before. The Goddess named Macha... They call her the Goddess of War but I heard she was incredibly beautiful...And full of passion. They say she was so beautiful that whoever laid eyes on her would instantly fall in love... It's no coincidence that this city was named after her! That's right! Haha! Oh, but you know what? There is a rumor that... Macha was reincarnated as Rua, that beautiful girl in red. ... Doesn't that seem pretty believable?
Gordon
Gordon.png
Emain Macha 2
  • Hm...So you're the one going around asking about the legend of Macha, the Goddess of Destruction. Macha is known for bestowing courage and strength to those on the battlefield. They say those who gained strength from Macha would completely destroy anything that came across. That's how much power she bestowed upon those who sought her... However, when it came to love she was as weak as a mortal woman... When she fell in love with a human she violated the rules of a Goddess several times for the sake of love... Eventually even becoming a human just to be with him... ...Although there are many tales as to what happened after, no one knows exactly what went on... I firmly believe that the people of Erinn are still beloved by the gods...

  • Mm... You must be talking about Macha, the Goddess of Destruction... I don't know if you knew this... But Macha is one of the three Goddess of War, also known as Badhbh Cath. If Morrighan was the goddess who protected the warriors, Macha was the one who united them and comforted the wounded soul. At first, I didn't think her name, 'Goddess of Destruction', was very accurate for her... But I learned that she also had the power to read people's minds, as well as increase and decrease their fears and anxieties, and all other emotions that govern humans' behavior. Isn't that amazing she could read people's minds? She also was said to possess exceptional combat skills, as she would bestow them upon warriors who found fond favor with her. They say that once she intervened in a battle, those who were empowered by her would wreak total havoc. ... That's the very reason why she is known as the Goddess of Destruction.
Jocelin

  • You want to know about the Goddess of Destruction, Macha? ... I can't talk about her without mentioning that she threw away her divinity and became human because she fell in love with a human man... I think this story was fabricated in order to stir up the fact that women always sacrifice so much for men. ... It's the same way that all legends are started.

  • What, you want to know about Macha, the Goddess of Destruction...? If you're asking for my opinion, ...I honestly think that man was an idiot. Why refuse to a woman that says she's in love with you? What a fool... Marriage is marriage, and a girlfriend is a girlfriend... Hehe, you could have both. If he just handled the situation correctly, that Macha wouldn't have put a curse on us. Well, anyway... If you're curious about what Macha looked like, then you should go meet Rua. Rua is so extremely beautiful that people even say that she is the reincarnation of Macha...Hehe... Just thinking about hat again - that man was seriously an idiot...

  • Mmm... There is a song called 'Macha's curse' that has been passed down. As you could imagine, it's not sung often because people are not too fond of it... Would you like to hear it? ...To the Warriors of De Dannans in the skies above, ...Are you looking at the world below, that you have earned with your blood, courage and sacrifice? ...Soon the heavens and the earth will reach harmony and peace will overflow. ...Men will gain strength, women will gain new life, ...and love will fill the air. ...However, this can't last forever. ...Humans, who don't know how much they have, ...will slowly eat away at peace, abundance, strength, life and love. ...There will be no more flowers even in the summer time. ...Trees will be barren. ... Fishes will dissapear from the waters. ...Women will become shameless ... and men will lose their strength. ...And, people will become paranoid of each other and hurt each other. ...There will be no trust, betrayal will become rampant, ...Goddess will be wiped out from this world. ...There will be no one amongst you with courage. ...This world will slowly be destroyed as such. ...The day your world is completely destroyed, you will mourn as I am now, ...You will feel my desperate hopelessness ...This is when I stop my lament. ...Ah, how fickle human love is. ...That's the end. It's kind of creepy, huh? Plus, what do you mean human love is fickle...? It's not something you want to sing for fun. It's a slightly different message from Macha's curse that is said to have been passes down from long ago. Yeah, because according to this song, Macha's curse is not yet over... And it could start any moment...

  • Mm...I'm not trying to be bigheaded, but I hear this often from other people. They tell me that I must be the reincarnation of Macha because I am so beautiful... ...What do you think, CharacterName...?
...But you know what I'm different from Macha. Even though Macha was a goddess, she gave herself too much to love, and was betrayed in the end...
She left her position of divinity so that she could be with the man she loved and became a human... ...It was a foolish mistake...
From what I've heard, Macha is able to read human minds... That means she was deceived even though she knew what would happen all along...
Don't tell me you didn't know about this? Oh no, it's nothing important.
It just happens all the time. The girl loves the guy so much that she sacrifices everything but the guy ends up leaving her...
As a woman, I can understand... but I would never do something foolish like that. Hehe...
That's not the point anyway. It just reminded me of something from my past...

  • About Goddess Macha? I'm not sure... I don't know if she is the Goddess of Destruction or not.
Still... I think it's amazing that she still chose to become human despite knowing what would happen.
I don't know who that man was, but had he shown even half the amount of love she had for him, the story wouldn't have ended so tragically...
...Grownups tell me I'm too young to understand... but that's just their excuse to avoid the matter!
Tyron

  • Are you asking me about Goddess Macha? Oh, I've heard about her since I was young... It's the story of how she fell in love with a mortal, but got betrayed and then cursed humans all together, right? If you ask Nele over the square, he could probably sing you the song of that curse. But you know what, I feel like the curse hasn't even actually started yet... They say the name of this city was changed because of that curse, but I'm afraid that bad things will begin happening once the curse actually starts... Well, let's just hope that I'm wrong. Hehe!
Wyllow
Wyllow.png
Emain Macha 2
  • Hm... CharacterName...You're interested in the legend of Macha...? The Red Goddess, Macha... It's so unfortunate... She fell in love with a man, and became human herself, but he rejected her love and she chose to die for it... Yes... She left a curse for humans who betrayed her love, and fell into the lake near the city, and lost her body there... The mermaid is the symbol of this city was created based on the thought that she was reincarnated as a mermaid... The reason why Macha is not as well-known as Goddess Morrighan is because she never appeared to us ever since that time. Though she was an immortal being, she fell in love with a mere mortal. But it was probably never possible for her to have lived a life with him... Anyway the curse that she left has been passed down a song, so if you want to hear it, go ask Nele, the bard, at the town Square...
