Attacking the enemy from a place where his attacks cannot reach you is the easiest way to defeat an enemy. This is an obvious fact, but it's not so simple during actual battle. In a long range attack, a weapon that enables such an attack and the skill to handle that weapon with precision are critical. Containing the basics of long range attacks, learning Ranged Attack enables you to carry out more accurate and powerful attacks from a distance. However, this one thing must not be forgotten - long range attacks are not accomplished by instant mental understanding but through persistent practice and training. The idea of a battle without risks is appealing, but it also requires much preparation and grueling training.

Details

  • Requires a Bow or Crossbow and the respective Missile to use.
  • Clicking once on a monster will load the skill and start the aiming meter. A second click will fire the missile.
    • You must have Automatic Combat off and Reserved Attack on 'Once' or 'Not Used' to "hold" the missile after it is fully aimed.
  • The Aiming meter goes up to 100%.
    • If the opponent is standing still, max aim meter is 100%.
      • Aim Rate can be modified to go up to 120% while using a Sharp Aiming magically Composed music score.
    • If the opponent is walking, max aim meter is 95%.
    • If the opponent is running, max aim meter is 90%.
    • Occasionally an enemy may be just outside the player's range despite the game showing them as in range, causing your attacks to miss.
    • Firing at any aiming value less than 100% will reduce the player's damage according to the aiming meter's value.
      • 50% Aim Rate results in 50% damage. 120% Aim Rate results in 120% damage.
    • Aiming speed multiplier increases with higher rank.
    • Aiming at 70% causes a visual flare and a bonuses to aim rate will take effect, regardless of aiming speed.
      • This only applies to players.
  • One shot will stun the opponent, but will not knock them back.
    • Consecutive shots can push-back.
      • The number of hits required to push an enemy back depends on how quickly the player fires as well as the bow used.
    • Striking an enemy who is being pushed back will bounce them in place.
      • Striking an enemy during this will cause them to stand up, removing any stun or knockback.
  • Each shot uses up one missile.
  • Stunning with this skill triggers most monsters to attempt to use a basic attack on the player.
    • Critical hits will reset the monster's AI instead.
    • This is dependent on the Monster's AI.
  • Elves have their own version of Ranged Attack.
  • Ranged Attack and all Archery fire can be dodged by Evasion.
  • The skill's Aim Speed Bonus does not affect Magnum Shot, nor Crash Shot.

  • Some enemies in the field will automatically aggro and attack you if you aim at them with any archery skill, even before shooting.
